After 6 incredible years at District, we’re saying a very fond farewell to Sandra β€” an amazing colleague, a trusted friend, and a huge part of our community.

From day one, Sandra has brought warmth, energy, and dedication to everything she’s done. She’s supported our members, lifted her teammates, and helped shape District into the place we know and love today. Her impact has reached far beyond the day-to-day β€” it’s in the culture, the laughter, and the connections she’s built along the way.

While we’re so sad to see her go, we couldn’t be more excited for her next chapter as she heads off to sunny Spain β˜€οΈ

Sandra, thank you for everything. You’ll always be part of the District family β€” and we’ll be expecting postcards!

See our easy Protein Pancake recipe for some flippin good pancakes!

1 Banana
75g Oats
3 Large Eggs
2 tbsp milk (dairy, soya, oat or nut milks all work)
1 tbsp baking powder
Pinch of cinnamon
2 tbsp Protein Powder (whey, pea or whatever your preference)
Coconut oil, or a flavourless oil, for frying
Nut butter, maple syrup and berries or sliced banana to serve

Method
Whizz the banana, oats, eggs, milk, baking powder, cinnamon and protein powder in a blender for 1-2 mins until smooth. Check the oats have broken down, if not, blend for another minute.

Heat a drizzle of oil in a pan. Pour or ladle in 2-3 rounds of batter, leaving a little space between each to spread.

Cook for 1-2 minutes, until bubbles start to appear on the surface and the underside is golden.

Flip over and cook for another minute until cooked through.

Transfer to a warmed oven and repeat with the remaining batter.

Serve in stacks with nut butter, maple syrup and fruit.

Congratulations to Our Rookie Lifeguard Graduates!

A huge well done to our incredible Rookie Lifeguards who have successfully completed their 10-week course and final exam!

Over the past few months, these young lifesavers have built essential water safety skills, developed their rescue techniques, improved their swimming strength, and most importantly, grown in confidence and teamwork.

Their dedication, focus, and determination have truly paid off β€” and we couldn’t be prouder of what they’ve achieved.

This is a fantastic milestone and an exciting step forward in their lifesaving journey. Who knows? We may be looking at some future full lifeguards in the making!

Well done to every graduate β€” and thank you to our instructor George for his guidance and support throughout the course.

Time to put the spotlight on the newest members class instructor here at District.

Name & role
Tara Tait. Zumba Instructor, Physiotherapy Mature Student, Mother of two!

How long have you been a Zumba instructor?
This January marked my first year!

What made you fall in love with Zumba?
The feel-good hormones that bring a sense of joy and freedom, meeting loads of lovely people, all while keeping fit! I really like that Zumba is a challenge for the mind through coordination and memory as well as an excellent workout not just for cardio but toning, mobility, balance and flexibility. Dance can boost your mood more than other forms of exercise, research shows it has really positive impacts on brain function and mental health. This is especially true in a group, there's something special about the sense of community that develops in a Zumba class when we coordinate our movements together.

How would you describe your class vibe in three words?
Welcoming, High-Energy, Joyful

Favourite Zumba track or style?
Salsa is my favorite rhythm! Your body can flow with the beat.

Hardest move (or crowd favourite!)?
Crowd favorite move might be the β€˜Helicopter’.. coming soon to District!! It’s one where we can laugh at ourselves, being a little bit silly and getting a little break from 'adulting' is a must of every Zumba class!!

One fun fact about you
When I was in primary school, I was pictured in the newspaper in the crowd with Neil Armstrong when he visited Tralee in 1997!

What do you love most about teaching Zumba?
Those moments during class when I see people laughing, smiling, enjoying the music and sense of joy and freedom that dance brings!

One tip for first-timers
Follow my feet first, arms will follow in time! It can take around three classes to start to feel familiar with the moves.

Meet Tara at her Saturday morning 9.30am class. Members can book via the Fitsnese app under Holistic Studio from 9am Friday mornings.
