Baby Darla at the end of her treatment today... π€ Thank you to her wonderful Mum Sylice for allowing me to share Darlas Cranial story. π
Darla had a tough start after a relatively straightforward delivery... She swallowed muconium, had difficulty getting her first breath and had to spend a week in NICU on a feeding tube with IV antibiotics.
Darla had tensions in her upper back, neck muscles and diaphragm, with retained shock from the hardship of her first week.
I worked very gently to encourage relaxation in the muscles and expansion and mobility to her Diaphragm. (shock can cause tightness to the Diaphragm, as can the life saving, daily medical checks in NICU)
This helps to relieve any strain in the central nervous system, in particular, the vagus nerve which is responsible for heart rate variability, regular digestion and overall homeostasis (balance in the body.)
During treatment, her muscles and diaphragm unwound, she was completely relaxed and was snoozing soundly as we put her back in her car seat. π An all round perfect first cranial treatment. π
(I forgot to take a picture of the STUNNING lavender cardigan and matching Lace bow that Darlas Glamourous Nana Siobhan made for her.... Swipe to see the Booties... ππ Sorry I had to take them off for the treatment Granny Shiv!! π)
