💜 Be present. Show them you’re there and ready to listen with care.

💜 Listen openly. Offer empathy without judgment or solutions.

💜 Validate their feelings. Remind them their pain is real and they’re not alone.

Depression can look like:
•isolating oneself
•laying in bed all day
•being visibly low/sad
•struggling to maintain hygiene/appearance

& ALSO look like:
•overcompensating with humour
•the ‘happy’ friend
•being social
•being active/high-functioning

Depression has no face.

- Laugh and smile a lot
- Look out together
- Have a caring family
- Have dreams and goals
- Have a career
- Don’t have a diagnosis or take medication
- Say positive things
