Here are some things people with anxiety wish you knew:

- We can’t control it.
- Telling us to “relax” isn’t helpful.
- It’s crippling.
- Sometimes (most of the time) we feel anxious for no apparent reason.
- We’re doing our best.
- We appreciate the small things like ordering our food.

People can still be struggling with their mental health even if they:

- Laugh and smile a lot
- Look out together
- Have a caring family
- Have dreams and goals
- Have a career
- Don’t have a diagnosis or take medication
- Say positive things

If you’ve ever:

- Skipped a call from a friend because your mind felt too heavy

- Stayed in bed all day because the world seemed too much to bear

- Wondered if things would be easier if you just disappeared

- Felt tears soak your pillow in the silence of the night

You’re not alone. You are enough, you are seen, and you are worth every bit of care.

This is a very normal response and the mind protecting itself.
Just the way you breathe unconsciously.

They can manifest in various ways, such as sudden snaps of frustration, fixating on small details, overwhelming sensitivity, restless wandering, quiet withdrawal, or drifting into a daze.
