How can Osteopathy help me????

Osteopathy is a way of detecting, treating and preventing health problems by moving, stretching and massaging a person's muscles and joints. Osteopathy is based on the principle that the wellbeing of an individual depends on their bones, muscles, ligaments and connective tissue functioning smoothly together.

Frozen Shoulder

If left untreated, frozen shoulder can last up to 3 years or longer. Treatment is different in every individual. The Osteopath will manipulate the pressure points surrounding the shoulder. Pressure applied is variable depending on the individual and the severity of the condition.

Side Effects after Treatment:

If you feel a bit sore and achy after your treatment, this feeling should ease within a couple of days. This occurs due to your body adjusting to the changes that may have been made through treatment. If you feel concerned, or your pain is significantly worse, then you should call and speak with your Osteopath.

How does an Osteopath diagnose?

You will be asked to demonstrate simple stretches and movements to help the osteopathic physician make an accurate analysis of their posture and mobility. The Osteopath will also assess the health of the joints, ligaments, and tissues, using a highly trained technique of touch known as palpation.

Also the information you offer can be extremely helpful in achieving an accurate diagnosis and treatment plan.

As such, we recommend that you consult with your professional osteopath for further support in your case. However, as a general guide, you should aim to see your professional osteopath around once per month. This may be a little more regular if you have a major injury that you need help with healing.

What's the best sleeping position for your spine?

If you sleep on your side, draw your legs up slightly toward your chest and put a pillow between your legs. Flexing your knees and having a pillow between your legs can help align your spine, pelvis and hips. This position takes pressure off your spine. Use a full-length body pillow if you prefer.

If you rather sleeping on your back , for optimal spine alignment, place one pillow underneath your head or neck and another underneath your knees.
