Think you’ve got what it takes to be the best of the best? Come to our Surgical Skills competition Sunday January 25th and put on a display off all your amazing abilities.

Competition will include simple interrupted sutures, and Lap-box stations.

The TOP 7 competitors will get to go and represent UCC and the national Surgical Skills competition in Dublin come February!

Ready to level up your suturing skills? Join us for a hands-on tendon repair workshop where you’ll learn and practice three different tendon repair techniques, with step-by-step guidance throughout the session.

Cost: €4
Payment: Card at the door (no cash)
🚨 Prerequisite: Prior basic suturing experience required
    (Attendance at any previous suturing/skills event is sufficient)
Not suitable as a first-time suturing session🚨

You can submit your abstracts (250-300 words) on any topic related to surgery or clinical medicine by December 23rd through the link in our bio!

Your work will then be displayed and judged in person at the UCC Surgical Conference, with prizes and certificates for the winners! Don’t miss this opportunity to showcase your research!! 🔬🧪

The Surgical Society Annual Surgical Conference is back and bigger than ever — bringing together consultants and students for two days of inspiring talks across specialties and a chance for students to put their surgical skills to the test!!

✨ Friday: Consultant talks on the path to surgery, balancing lifestyle, subspecialties, innovation, and what the next generation of surgeons needs to know. Ask questions. Make connections. Get guidance from those who’ve walked the path.

✨ Saturday: Dive into our most immersive workshop day yet. Experience procedures like burr holes, chest tube insertion, suturing, knot tying, and more — guided by skilled surgeons and registrars who want to help you grow.
