🌟🌟What is Occupational Therapy🌟🌟
Paediatric occupational therapy (OT) focuses on helping children develop the skills they need to participate in daily activities, also known as "occupations". These activities can range from tasks like dressing, feeding, playing, schoolwork, social interactions, or self-regulation.
At Strides each OT session is tailored to each child’s unique needs. Paediatric OTs work with children to: ~Improve motor skills (e.g., fine motor skills like writing or gross motor skills like running) ~Enhance sensory processing (e.g., helping a child tolerate certain textures, sounds, or sensations)
~Develop cognitive skills (e.g., problem-solving, attention, memory) ~Support social skills (e.g., turn-taking, appropriate communication) ~Promote independence in daily living activities (e.g., getting dressed, brushing teeth).
The ultimate goal of paediatric OT is to enable children to participate as fully as possible in life, whether at home, in school, or in social settings.
