๐ŸŽ™ We teach you about yoga.

Our studio is a community focused yoga space where people can come to learn, connect, explore and experience the many benefits Yoga has to offer. We host weekly classes, workshops, student and teacher trainings and experiences. We also have a small shop and a library. The kettle is always on and there is always a smile to welcome you at the door! Unlike other studios we are run and operated by the

teachers. This allows for the student to be at the forefront of the experience, for each teacher to earn a decent wage from sharing their gifts and for the profits to be fairly distributed. Yoga means union, to come together, and so we feel this is the way most in keeping with the yogic philosophy and ethos. Many places teach yoga classes. Hence the word School in the name. If you want to do yoga, come join us. If you want to learn about yoga, come join us. If you want to do both, come join us! We go to great lengths to ensure the energy is protected and nurtured. It is a living space after all. Filled with air purifying plants, featuring a beautiful alter and burning only 100% natural incense you can breathe deep, and breathe clean. The space is cleaned physically and energetically on a regular basis. The energy in the studio has to be experienced to be believed. Fully stocked with an abundance of props we will have you fully supported and sinking into relaxation. The studio was founded by Jeanie Jyanti and the name originated from her understanding of the yoga practice as a holistic and magical process to transform your entire being. As a Chemist by academic training the word Alchemy just made sense. Environmental Statement:

Would you like to join us?
๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿฝ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿฝ

Here's why we feel you should:

๐Ÿ™๐Ÿฝ We love sharing authentic Yoga, from the source, direct to you. We will focus on making you a Yogi first so you can then learn how to teach it.

๐ŸŽ“ We focus on the scientific as well as the spiritual. We regularly get comments from students saying they have fallen back in love with Yoga once they experienced true Yoga on these courses.

๐Ÿ›Œ Most of our experiences are residential, and so it's a deep immersion into Yogic Lifestyle. Having your food and accommodation tended to, provided by or , all you have to do is be there and enjoy the practices and the theory. It's often referred to as a retreat and a training in one.

๐Ÿ˜‚ We really value play and joy. Yoga can be so serious sometimes. Yes, we deeply honour and respect these teachings, where they've come from and how deeply healing they can be. But we also celebrate life, share in the joy of living and loving, and want to share that with you too!

๐Ÿณ๏ธโ€๐ŸŒˆ+๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿฆผ ๐Ÿ’ถ We are dedicated to inclusivity, diversity and access for all to Yoga spaces. Everyone is welcome. And we don't just say that. We do something about it, too. We offer payment plans and scholarships. We respect people's autonomy and choice regarding their identity, sexuality, religion, beliefs and status. We are passionate about allowing everyone access to these spaces. Not just a privileged few.

โ“๏ธWe provide support and guidance long after the experience is finished. Our graduates don't just finish, and we're gone. We have many community spaces where they can ask questions, seek advice, clarify things, and get support. This can be a lonely journey at times, but we focus on community.

๐Ÿ’– We are open to any questions, comments, concerns, or enquiries about any of these. No matter how small a question. DM us,and we'll get back to you when we can. It really should be the right choice for us all. We love to chat!

๐Ÿค” As teachers, we all know there is so much more to Yoga than Asana (the postures) right? But could you teach a whole class without Asana?

๐Ÿ“š For so many of us we learned about lots of things outside of Asana on our YTTs. But did you learn to teach them?

๐Ÿ“ฟ It's something I hear on my trainings time and time again: "we learned this on my YTT but I never knew how to teach it"

๐Ÿ“ฃ As teachers we are ambassadors of Yoga and our students deserve to learn Yoga in it's fullest form.ย

๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿผ So if you'd like to immerseย yourself in all things not Asana and learn how to share these with your students, I've got just the course for you.ย

๐Ÿ™๐Ÿผ These are things I hear daily as a Yoga Teacher. And they are all things that have such an easy solution.

๐Ÿ›€ "I'm not flexible enough" - find a class where the teacher offers options for all bodies and who will encourage you to find your version of the pose. If you're not flexible enough...that's even more reason to go! It's like saying you're too dirty to take a bath!
๐Ÿ“ฃ Teachers- make sure you know how to adapt the practice for all body types.

๐Ÿค• "I have an injury" - of course depending on what the injury is, a good Yoga Teacher will be able to help adapt any practice to accommodate it and potentially even help it (of course get clearance from your physio or doctor beforehand!). Also Yoga is so much more than the postures. So a good Yoga Teacher can help you practice all the other parts if your body isn't able for movement.
๐Ÿ“ฃ Teachers - could you teach a class without Asana?!

๐Ÿฅป "I don't have the right clothes" - 95% of the time I practice Yoga in my PJs! And often a dressing gown too! You really don't need any specific clothes to practice Yoga. The companies selling the clothes will tell you that you do!, but remember for 1000s of years Yoga was practised in all white, cotton, loose clothing.

๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿผ "I'm not fit enough" - so go to Yoga to enhance your fitness! Find the right class for your ability. Contact the teacher/studio, ask questions beforehand. Let them know you're beginning and will need to take things at your own pace. A good teacher will allow for various levels in the room. Remember you're doing something new and so you will be challenged. But if you can keep going back, the body will adapt.

๐Ÿง˜๐Ÿฝโ€โ™€๏ธ"I don't have a mat" - you don't need one! Most studios and teachers provide them. And if they don't they will nearly always have a spare you can borrow.

๐Ÿช‘ "I can't sit sill" - You don't need to! A good teacher will allow for simple and gentle movements during times of stillness. Ask can you bring a quiet fidget toy. In some cases the more you practice Yoga the easier it is to sit still too!

Yoga Teachers - what common things do you hear? I'd love to know in the comments below ๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿฝ

๐Ÿ“ฟ Yoga is not a religion - yes it is a deeply spiritual practice, it is an ancient practice of connecting with oneself and those around you and has many similarities to religionsย but it is not. It is a philosophy and a spiritual practice

๐Ÿคธโ€โ™€๏ธ It is not exclusivelyย physical. Yes it can be a work out, strengthen muscles, build balance, stability, mobility and stamina but it can also do all of this for your mind!ย

๐Ÿ˜ญ Yoga doesn't always make you feel good - the intention is to bring you to a state of harmony and balance, within and to the world around you. But it also churns things up, unearths things that have been long buried and sometimes that means you might feel worse before you feel better. Trust the process.

๐Ÿง˜๐Ÿฝโ€โ™€๏ธ Yoga is not just on a mat. Yes we can explore the physical practice on the mat but why do we do that? So we can take it into our lives off the may. Be better neighbours, stand up for injustices, be more connected to the world around us so we can make better choices.ย

๐ŸŽญ Yoga is not a performance. It doesn't matter what you look like, what clothes you are wearing, how close you are to touching your toes. It cares about what you are feeling inside.ย

What do you think yoga is not?
