▶️ The reason I got into the game was this . Helping people overcome there ni**les to get back to what they love. 🏊♂️🏄🏋️🤼♀️🤸🏾♀️🏌🏾♂️🏹🏏⛳️🥅
▶️First session in we chatted for 45mins… yes 45mins about everything , not just his ni**le that had plagued him for many years.
Why such a long a chat? Well it’s the most important part of the of the treatment in the first session in my opinion.
▶️ It was very clear from the story that he had hit every strength marker known to man 👨… what wasn’t I going to give him as part of rehab…?? If you said strength… you have just won 🥇 bullies gold prize..😂😂
▶️ So what’s the missing piece of the puzzle then?? If this was 4 years ago I’d be scratching my head & have a look on my face to say … hmmm maybe we try some more strength…😩😩😩
▶️ Thankfully I went on & completed a mentorship with Dave O’Sullivan at Pro-Sport Accademy, this has taught me so much on how the body moves & what we need to have nice efficient movement.
▶️ So we chased Co-Ordination … timing … hitting the sweet spot, like when you strike a golf ball and it goes 300 yards but you didn’t feel you swung hard at all. Think about it , your foot hits the ground, what do we need to happen? We need all muscles working as a team, better Co-Ordination equals more efficient moving.
Don’t get me wrong, Is it important to be strong 💪?? Hell yes … but it’s only part of the puzzle.
▶️A big thank you to , I can remember our first online call & the fear I had of jumping on board, he did what he teaches on his mentorship, he met me where I was & we planned out the next logical steps & progressions for me as a therapist.
▶️ Tip for all therapists, sometimes the most complex looking cases are the easiest to solve & the easy ones turn out to be hardest, don’t be afraid to wrong, bin the current hypothesis, don’t get attached, move on to the next logical step .
