**UPDATE @ 28 January 15:30**

We have power restored so thankfully both Kokoro Clinic and Canine Amatsu Physical Therapy will be open as usual tomorrow, Wednesday 29th January. We are so grateful to the ESB crews who have been working tirelessly since it was safe to do so after Storm Eowyn.

For us it has been a tough 5 days without power, heat, hot water, phone and internet and we are very conscious of the families in our area and around the country who are still waiting for a resolution, our thoughts are with them all.

*Our power will not be restored before Wednesday evening, the 29th January so unfortunately the clinic will have to remain closed. All clients with appointments will be contacted and rescheduled. We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience but unfortunately this situation is beyond our control.

We hope to reopen on Thursday 30th but will post further updates in the coming days.

Due to power lines down since last Thursday night we are unable to open the clinic today. We hope to be back open tomorrow 28th January but if there is any change we will update this post.

Apologies to anyone trying contact us on our landline as this is also down, please try the mobile numbers and myself or Dáire will get back to you as soon as possible. Likewise there may be a delay in replying to emails as we have limited access to these at present.

Colin and Dáire.

Due to the warnings in place in advance of Storm Eowyn tonight and tomorrow we have taken the decision to close Kokoro Clinic on the 24th January. All scheduled clients will be notified and their appointments rescheduled as soon as possible.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused, but the safety of our clients is uppermost in our thoughts. Stay safe everyone and only travel if absolutely essential.

It was a great pleasure to attend the launch of Martin Quigley’s new book, “More than a number“.

Martin’s book is a comprehensive guide for anyone who is on a journey of self-discovery and personal growth and will certainly give practical information and guidance both personal and work related that will help with a deeper understanding of yourself and bring out your inner qualities. The book is a valuable guide to help you understand yourself and others through the Enneagram personality model.

The Enneagram is a model of human psychology and personality theory, that is based on the idea that each person has a unique and innate personality structure, or "essence," that shapes the way they see the world and themselves.

I would highly recommend it and Martin’s work.

“More than a number” is available on www.buythebook.ie or by scanning the QR code.

Friday Facts #1 - Knee Pain
Do you know that Amatsu can be very successful in treating or managing Acute and Chronic knee pain? Do you know the difference between these conditions?

Acute pain is recognised as pain that occurs suddenly, usually triggered by a specific cause and it tends to be sharp in quality. Examples of the causes of Acute knee pain include runner's knee, torn ligaments, sports injuries, car accidents, injuries or accidents in the workplace, surgical procedures and fractures/broken bones.

Amatsu can assist with reducing the Acute pain and speeding up the healing and recovery.

Chronic pain is ongoing and doesn't go away once the injury or illness that caused the pain has disappeared. It can often last for months or even years. Examples or conditions that can lead to Chronic knee pain can include rheumatoid arthritis, tendinitis, osteoarthritis and dislocation.

Whilst Amatsu cannot cure the cause of Chronic pain, it can help to reduce pain and help to maintain your mobility.

If you would like more information please contact Colin or Dáire at Kokoro Clinic and we would be happy to discuss your condition in confidence and work on a treatment plan and outline the number of treatments you may need.

As another year comes to a close I want to wish you and all our clients a very happy Christmas and peaceful new year.

Many thanks for your support during the year, it's very much appreciated.

This year instead of cards we are making a donation to the RNLI (www.irishlifeboats.com or www.rnli.org) and Indreni who provide education for children in Nepal (www.indreni.org).

Many thanks and stay safe. Colin
