Rumour has it a Tyrone man and Down woman were spotted atop the highest point of The Kingdom at 3am this morning showing their support for their adopted county as they go into battle today against The Kerrymen. Bumped into Mr Tayto when they got down too. He's rooting for Donegal.🤣

Excellent 3 days spent on learning and development at the British Contact Lens Association conference in Birmingham. This conference is held every 2 years and specialist practitioners attend from every corner of the globe. It's pretty humbling to be in the presence of such skilled and knowledgeable peers. At we are at the forefront in terms of and have spent a great deal developing our practice these past few years. We are constantly striving to deliver better services and it's these events that inspire me to achieve that goal. Back to work next week a better and more informed practitioner.

Many thanks to George and David from Hendersons Hardware who came to my rescue this morning. I was power hosing out the back of the shop and whilst cleaning the back door inadvertently locked myself out. And with my keys stuck in the front door Kathleen wouldn't have been able to get in. As Kathleen was minus her car at home, the boys drove to our house, got the key, manufactured a shorter key and unlocked the shop door. All in the space of one hour. On a Sunday morning!!! That's not just service, it's friendship and community. Many thanks again to you both. Legends

Delighted to have been present on Saturday night to witness this little bit of local history. I saw Muireann on last year's Hootenanny and have been looking forward to getting a chance to see her live. She was SO good. Like 🤯🤯🤯 good. And as endearing through the whole set as in this clip. To be that talented at that age makes me absolutely convinced I've wasted my life!🤣
Also on the bill was Chanele McGuiness whose music was hauntingly beautiful and reminded me of Mazzy Star. It's unreal we have so much talent on our doorstep. I've attached another clip in the comments.

Delighted to be able to make a contribution to enable represent Ireland in the upcoming world championships in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. I've known and trained with Jack now for a number of years. He's an extremely talented and dedicated mixed martial artist, not to mention a thoroughly decent lad. It's a huge achievement to represent your country, so as a community we should be immensely proud of him. Unfortunately Jack has to fund his own travels, so if there are any other businesses out there who would like to support him, I know he'd be very grateful.
We wish you the very best of skills next month Jack.

So after 5 good weeks training I set off early Sunday for Creeslough to begin our 100km cycle back to Tir Chonaill park in aid of the Four Masters GAA & LGFA Club Club Club clubhouse fund. We were very warmly welcomed by Lorcan and staff at Wild Atlantic Camp and primed for the off with freshly made pancakes and coffee. We set off in staggered groups with my own group bringing up the rear with some accomplished cyclists. The calves were a sight to behold.
We departed shortly after 8am and had stops at Glenswilly, Fintown and Ardara before the final leg from Ardara home. We had been extremely lucky all month with the weather and Sunday was no exception. Apart from a headwind out of Ardara the conditions were perfect. After leaving Ardara we all gathered at St Peter's lake before heading in procession to Tir Chonaill park where a rousing reception awaited our arrival.
100km is no mean feat for anyone and it was only due to the collective endeavour of every man and women involved that we all made it home with the only 2 incidents all day being 2 punctures.
I am extremely grateful to have been a part of this adventure which has been an absolute pleasure from day 1. I got to spend time with some old friends and make a lot of new ones. I especially want to thank all the organisers and the crews that marshalled us and fed us throughout the day. It was a Herculean task to organise the event, nevermind have it run so smoothly.
I also want to thank every person that sponsored me. I am truly grateful to you all. I would never have imagined I would be able to raise so much, nor that collectively we would raise over 90K. Having been hosted by Ardara at their clubhouse on Sunday you can see what an addition the Four Masters facility will be to our community.
So, big love again to all of you who sponsored me and all my fellow cyclists. I will be on the road with you again at some point!
As promised we entered everyone that sponsored me into a draw for a free pair of Ray-Bans and if you check back with us we will be announcing the winner this evening.

Week 4. Took it slightly easier last week. Had a couple of turbo sessions and was out Sunday for a shorter spin. Headed towards Glenties, into Ardara where we had a coffee and some cracking treats courtesy of Donal Carron(much appreciated), before heading back via Ardaghy. My watch was on the fritz so it only recorded the return leg. I reckon we must have done about 75km. We've been so lucky with the month we had to train for this and I'm looking forward to the craic on the cycle on Sunday. This is for a great cause. The clubhouse will be a community hub when it's finished and it will be of benefit to generations of kids to come. So thanks to those who've sponsored me thus far and any further donations from you all would be gratefully received.
