Our Prostate Cancer Awareness Talks are well underway this month.

We’ve recently visited HG Construction, Schuf Technology, and Dornan Engineering to help their teams learn more about men’s health.

These talks are delivered by Paul Ahern, who shares his knowledge and experience to help men understand the signs, symptoms and when to get checked. Because knowing what to look for can make all the difference.

November is Men’s Health Awareness Month, a reminder to take time for your health and encourage others to do the same.

If you’d like to arrange a Prostate Cancer Awareness Talk for your workplace, contact Linda at Linda@mercyhospitalfoundation.ie

Their discussion centred on the Mercy University Hospital Strategy 2025 - 2030 and key campus development projects currently underway - all designed to advance patient care and enhance the services we provide to our community.

This time last year Rachel O'Regan from Skibbereen ran her first full marathon to raise funds for cancer research and in support of her mum. Thanks to the support of family, friends and her community, Rachel crossed the finish line of Dublin City Marathon having completed 42km and raising an amazing €7,966.75 for the Mercy Hospital Foundation.

Sadly, Rachel's mother Hester passed away in December 2024 and is greatly missed by all who loved her. The donation Rachel has made in Hester's memory will support advanced care and offer hope to patients and their families in the Mercy University Hospital Cork.

Thank you Rachel 👏

After attending a Prostate Cancer Talk at work, Caoilte Sexton finally booked a check-up.. something he’d intended to do at 50, but never got around to.

“The talk gave me the push to do so at 53 and I ended up being diagnosed with prostate cancer. It was caught very early on, and I am on the road to a full recovery. I am most grateful for the Foundation for raising awareness around this topic.”

That single talk led to early detection and a much better outcome.

Through the Mercy Hospital Foundation these talks are helping men take action, catch cancer early and potentially save their own lives.

Bring one to your workplace. It could make all the difference.
