Yeah ….. right. If your going to do something, do it right 🤝(at least that’s how I justify spending way too much on a post design)

Everyone loves getting the outcome, but understanding the process is what will get you there, and allow you to stay there as well as surpass it long term.

Iv said it already before,
Fat loss is a energy balance (calories) dependent process, this can be aided in certain things like macro splits and how you implement it

Gaining strength, and muscle is a stimulus driven outcome.

If you have both nailed down correctly, dropping body fat & gaining muscle, can absolutely be done 👊.
Your approach, guidance, adjustments
and support just need to be there to support it.

Although Iv been lucky enough to coach & work with elite athletes across multiple sports, the majority of my clients that get results, that last, are exactly like this, and like you.

The need their training and nutrition to work around their lifestyle, not vice versa.

They need to reduce stress, and get back time but also to get their bad habits in line.

Their habits need to be integrated into, but not become their entire life.

They all along thought THEY were failing the approach, in reality the approaches they were attempting, failed them.

I had the pleasure of working with Luke over two twelve week blocks. During this period I attained all the goals I had set out at the start of the programme and more, which covered weight loss, improvements in my strength and improvements in my running performance.

I have a very busy life between work and kids. Luke helped me understand how to structure my day to attain better overall health and wellbeing. He also gave me a sense of accountability to help embed these practices. This really helped me get back into shape as I had fallen into many of the bad habits that come with office work and working from home. Luke was also very helpful and accommodating. The way the feedback sessions worked through videos and WhatsApp messages worked very well for me, as it allowed me to engage with them at times that suited me, as opposed to needing to make a set time each week.

When I went into hospital, I had a lot of problems

Why is the house taking so long
Are clients happy
What’s next month going to look like
Why is my running slowing
Am I going to have to stand in a supermarket with a microphone from temu, or making response videos to get clients
Has Sinead copped on yet that im actually a toffee head that’s punching.

When I left 8 days later, from what I thought what was a stomach bug/ 24hr thing, turning out to be emergency surgery.

Then, I had ONE problem.

My health.

What I thought were problems, just inconveniences I was giving too much attention & energy too.
The same kind of things I was worried or stressed about before,
that never transpire,
or end up working out anyway.

Am I going to be okay,
What’s going to happen,
might sound dramatic but,
am I going to die soon,
or how will life now change

I said it when I woke up, came out of
hospital & finished therapy,
it shouldn’t take something so severe to allow you to be grateful for stupid problems,
but that’s all they are.

It’s only through experience,
information becomes wisdom.

I try as much as I can bring this style understanding, empathy but also discipline into my coaching too, seeing how their lives are, giving the kick when they need it,
or just listening too.

I am no ghandi, but that for sure thought me to not complain over stupid s**t,
who ,& what to really value.

It’s only when the risk of it being gone,
and your life can flip in an hour,
it really stops & make you think.

He whose needs are least, has the most.
Health, and family.
The rest is a just an added extra along the way.

The move away from sport, especially at a national and elite level, can be tough.

Psychologically, but also habitually, things can change, and sometimes, go backwards.

This client might have retired from the arena, but not from the work. He got in touch feeling a bit lost, so we set down goals, and got to work.

Also having cerebral palsy, programming needing to be extremely specific.

This can result in spasticity (reducing or limiting range of motion) or hypertonic muscles (decreasing stability and increasing joint elasticity)

Careful exercise selection, continuous video feedback & coaching cues, balance assistance where needed, uni lateral work and tactical use of mirrors with session design (helps with visual feedback from vestibulocerebellum system) with co ordination, motor learning & movement quality, we’re all things we implemented to allow us to build some muscle, pain free and moving better.

Regardless of the condition or circumstances, it might shape the path, only limits the potential as much as you let it, but it doesnt stop the work, especially with a guy like this who’s a workhorse 🤝.

I don’t say it often, but in damn proud of what we done yesterday.

Such an incredible day that means a huge amount to us both with this crowd of good coaches (and missing a good few in this pic that sadly couldn’t attend).

It’s still mental too me that people would travel from different counties not too mind FLY from other countries spending their hard earned money to come hear us speak.
It gives me such a sense of purpose and satisfaction.

Will it do well,
What if no one shows up,
Was it good enough,

Every single one.
Although I’m in this game a while,
I still too suffer with some self doubt.

The best way Iv found to help,
Beat it with evidence.
And that’s what I’ll continue to do.

There never was a plan B, I simply just love coaching and educating too much.

Your wedding day is the one of the biggest days of your life,

Its only right, and every single person has the right, to feel, and be at their best, whatever that may look and feel like too them.

Been working with Julianna here for a few months now in the lead up too her big day earlier this month, and she has absolutely killed it.

Like any client, we had challenges, but Julianna always played the long game, the wedding was just a nice milestone along the way.

Huge congratulations to the new husband and wife and wish you both a happy future together 🙌.

And that, we did 🤝.

Post partum can be a pretty damn hard time to navigate.
Massive adjustments to routine
Physically a lot of re adjustment
Hormonal influence
Time constraints
That’s only the start of it

Doing it twice back to back can be harder.
Luckily this woman has been on board many times before, so I knew her, what she needed and what she didn’t.

For this client, if she checked in and told me she slept shire, her food wasn’t great because of her two young kids and she couldn’t get any movement, cool…. We’re gonna work with what we have got and try improve where we can.

For the same woman who comes to me and tells me she’s willing to do anything to get in shape, but DOESNT have the responsibility and demands of 2 young kids, and is just unorganised, and not helping herself….. well then that’s a different conversation.

Accountability is relative to the person, some need the carrot dangled in front,
Some need a kick up the whole,
Usually most people need both,
A good coach just knows when and where to use each one.

What a road so far with

Terese has been a long term client since I even started integrative, with some breaks taken in between, (the most important one to become a new mom recently)

It’s been absolutely brilliant to see how well she has transitioned from stage, to the competition floor

Being so involved in an aesthetically driven sport and stopping can bring its challenges from stepping away, with body image, how you view, speak too and treat yourself. This can cause people to let it become their identity, personality and sole purpose, here is where coaching support is critical.

Terese finding passion in various competitions has massively helped with that transition.

There’s been a lot of wins and PBs these past few months, (so many I had to get her to text them out 😂).
What’s cool is we did this while VERY slowly going through a gradual Re-comp, getting fitter, stronger along the way, and most importantly always prioritising number 1 goal,

being there to enjoy important moments & occasions for her family, as a mom & wife.

This past week l, for every check in we’re acknowledging wins and “smashing it”
There’s 2/3 that are struggling,

Loss of jobs,
Loss of loved ones
Work pressure
Kids & stress
Financial pressure
Break ups
New careers
Uncertainty
Virus/ilness
Unexpected or planned surgeries
Or, just slightly dropping the ball a bit and needing to pull their finger out

Some planned,
Some not.
Some within their control,
Most…. Are not.

Im telling you this for 2 reasons.

1- If you sign up to coaching to get your “transformation’,  and expect a nice rosy journey with no hiccups and constant progress, not to sound negative, just pragmatic, but Im afraid to tell you that your expectations may be unrealistic, and if a coach guarantees results, happiness or anything else for that matter, they are talking out their ass. Because life happens some weeks, we can’t predict that s**t.
2- If you have a s**t week, fearing no progress, maybe you couldn’t give 1 s**t about your macros because your head is not in it, the weeks where adversity is highest is where PROPER coaching comes in (within an online coach realm of practice).Although it may be the last thing on your mind,’”s**t hit the fan weeks” do & will happen, and everything about coaching crack is meant to help take away and manage any external stress, not add to it. So prioritize what’s really important, control what you can where you can, dont chase everything being perfect and know there are plenty more weeks for progress to be made if more important things in life kick up.

Sometimes trying to overly be “relatable”, Lacks authenticity.

But this is, how it is.
You might stumble, or trip along the way, but a good outcome might be,
banging your head against reality.

It’s all part of any bit of habit change, welcome and learn from it and you’ll benefit more than a smooth sailing perfect approach.

Fun fact Number 1: This client is best friends, and training partners with the last woman I posted with the same challenges, background & great results. Re enforces that who you surround yourself with, and environmental influences are huge.

Fun fact Number 2: the massive reduction in bloating wasn’t initially from what she thought.

Yes peri-menopause & menopause bring about changes in body fat distribution and bloating/distension from estrogen & progesterone changing, add HRT into the mix it becomes even harder to predict, but this massive improvement ☝️ and feedback, came from

- better Nutrient Density
- more attention to Nutrient timing
- as a result of the above & lifestyle intervention, better digestion & motility.
- improved attention to hydration
- better CNS management/ stress management.

Go into a field,
Build a wall on soggy soil,
It won’t last.

Strong foundations & habits = results that come smoother, more enjoyable, and most importantly, last
