It is with great sadness we share the news of the passing of the last remaining founder of 47 Medical Practice, the gentleman Dr Ralph Hoey.
Ralph is the father to our Partner Dr Alison Hoey and is fondly remembered by many staff and patients.

NEW COVID STRAIN - Please do a Covid test BEFORE calling the surgery & DO NOT ATTEND for an appointment if you have respiratory symptoms or any of the symptoms at the attached link. Patients who have been asked to come in must bring proof of neg antigen in with them. This is to keep vulnerable patients & staff safe and well.

Opening hours week of 30th Dec - 3rd Jan 2025

Monday 30th = normal opening - 9am - 5pm
Tuesday 31st = 9am - 12,45pm - Emergency phone until 6pm
Wednesday 1st = Closed
Thursday 2nd - Reopen - Normal Hours

Doctor on Call is available for acute illness when we are closed.

Please do not attend A&E for prescriptions and non-emergencies.

We are delighted to let you know our systems are back up and running with no long term damage to our IT infrastructure.

We do ask that only those who are acutely unwell phonecall the surgery today.

If it’s a query that can wait until tomorrow or next week we would appreciate it.
But those in need of medical attention this week please make contact.

Patients who called yesterday your messages have been retrieved and the doctors are getting to them today.

Your patience & understanding is appreciated.

**VERY HIGH IMPORTANCE**
Please read and pass on to any patients who you know are not on Facebook.

Due to the power outage in Drogheda today *Wed 9th October** our systems have crashed and damage has been done to our IT infrastructures. We are unable to access any patient information which includes appointments, notes & prescriptions. We do not have access to emails or most of our phone lines.

What does this mean for you, our patients?
* if you have an appointment this afternoon unless it’s urgent do not attend
* if you called today for a prescription or a callback you will not receive it
* if you are acutely unwell and need medical attention today please call doctor on call after 6pm or attend A&E if it’s an emergency situation. (Do not attend for prescriptions or minor illness)

We are working hard to get everything back up and running but it is out of our hands with the engineers and they need time to resolve the issues.

Please bear with us, and know at all times we are doing our very best to get back up and running as soon as possible.

FLU & COVID VACCINES NOW AVAILABLE

Anyone can get a booster on request .
We don't vaccinate under 16s here.

6 month gap since previous booster or COVID infection
Ideally given 20-34 weeks in pregnancy

You will be offered a booster dose if you are:

age 60 and older
age 18 to 59 living in a long-term care facility
age 6 months to 59 years with a weak immune system
age 6 months to 59 years with a condition that puts you at high risk of serious illness from COVID-19
a healthcare worker
pregnant - booster doses needed during pregnancy
If you're age 18 to 59 and not in one of the groups above, you can still request a vaccine.

Please bear with us while we trial a new auto-attendant phone system.
We understand it is frustrating trying to get through because of the sheer volume of calls. We continuously strive to get better.
We have added new personnel
We have added new phone lines
We have now added an auto attendant

This means that we need your help to press the correct button when calling.
Otherwise it will cause more time to transfer calls to the correct extension, and thereby holding up the lines further.
