Soho Flordis International is happy to inform you that another step on the Source to Patient process for the Equazen® line of products has been just reached.

Infact, the Equazen® line - and in particular its fish oil suppliers - has been approved to be in line with Friend of the Sea global requirements; therefore the whole Equazen® range, including MumOmega, is now allowed to use the “Friends of the Sea” stamp both on packaging and on marketing materials.

Friend of the Sea (FOS) is a non-governmental organisation established in 2008 whose aim is to safeguard the marine environment and its resources incentivising a sustainable market and implementing specific protection and conservation projects. The certification scheme of Friend of the Sea assesses fisheries and fish farms against sustainability criteria and indicators. To ensure compliance with the sustainability requirements, certification is granted by an independent body following a third party audit.

Friend of the Sea's standard for sustainable fish feed, fish meal, fish oil and Omega-3 certifies that the oil originates only from fisheries compliant with Friend of the Sea’s sustainable fishing requirements and that a full chain of custody is in place throughout the supply and production chain.

NEW research, set to be presented at an education conference in the UK this month, indicates that taking Omega 3 supplements can improve a child’s reading level in as little as three months.

The study looked at 154 children, who were divided into two groups. One group received Equazen, a fish oil supplement costing just 13p, and the others a placebo.

The children were then tested using computerised reading tests and those given Equazen showed a 64pc improvement in their overall comprehension and were five times quicker at decoding jumbled up words.

The pills had previously been shown to help children with behavioural problems.
