In 2021, Clinical Facilitators at Mater Private Network Dublin, Malar Karupusamy and Myrtle Power, together with Theatre Manager Deirdre Crosskill and Clinical Nurse Manager Geraldine Keartland, identified a shortage of experienced nursing staff in the field of anaesthetics and recovery. There was a clear gap in both practical experience and theoretical knowledge when recruiting new nursing staff, with numerous vacant positions across Ireland. To fill that gap, they developed Mater Private’s own in-house Anaesthetic and Recovery training programme. This training has provided high quality ongoing education and career development opportunities for our staff and 18 nurses have to date completed the programme. Nurses assemble! We are seeking to recruit a highly motivated staff nurse with a Dual Qualification to join our Paediatric team in the Mater Private Hospital. The successful candidate will be required to take responsibility on each shift for the nursing care of allocated patients and work as part of the nursing team to deliver best nursing practice based on individual patient assessments. He/she will develop a programme of care based on this assessment and continuous evaluation from admission to discharge.
