Today was a special day in Raheny House Nursing Home- Nore Valley Pet farm come to us with bunnies, hamsters, Guinea pigs , chicks , chickens , Bob the Lamb and a little field mouse. Day 3 of Nursing Homes Ireland week we enjoyed making vanilla and chocolate sponge cakes . Having a cup of tea afterwards and telling stories of our childhood memories of our mothers baking was a wonderful trip down memory lane . Day 2 of Nursing Homes Ireland week and what a day it was !! We are very excited about nursing homes Ireland week and all the amazing activities, events we have planned. We will be remembering all our favourite recipes over the years and it’s a wonderful opportunity to bring residents, families and staff together in celebration through something that connects us all . This is a taste of our week ahead -

Monday 18th - Bread & Butter Monday
Making one of our favourite recipes Bread & Butter Pudding & reminiscing this much loved dish.

Tuesday 19th- A Taste of India
Celebrating Indian Cuisine with our Indian Staff preforming Traditional Indian Dancing in their Saree’s & tasting Indian Dishes .

Wednesday 20th - Our therapy dog Dougal & Reflexology with Deidre . Traditional Lamb Casserole & Apple Tart & Cream

Thursday 21th - Live Music with Kiruu . Corned Beef & Cabbage with Apple purée and custard

Friday 22nd- Mobile pet farm , with bunnies , chicks,hamsters , Guinea pigs , lambs and ducks .
Baked Salmon and Creamed Rice Pudding

Saturday 23rd - Afternoon Tea Party with all our favourite sweet treats. Bacon & Cabbage & Jam sponge & Custard

Sunday 24th - Mass with Fr . Joe and reminiscing the week. Roast lamb & Pavlova

Last week in Raheny House Nursing Home we had our Annual Summer BBQ Party - and it was a wonderful day ! All our residents & families really look forward to this every year and we had great fun preparing for it with all our gorgeous decorations- including a few flamingos 🦩 The sun was shining, the food was fabulous, the salads, cakes and desserts delicious , the music was hopping , the craic was mighty and we had a really great time 🤗Evergreen Care
