My name is Michelle Reilly and I'm an IMMA accredited Creative Mindfulness Practitioner for children and teenagers. I also have a BA in Social Care and have worked with children, teens and their families for over 25 years. I'm extremely passionate about promoting children's positive mental health and well-being. Teaching them Mindfulness and Self Kindness practices that will support them in their daily lives.

Life is a constant balancing act, and it’s so easy to get swept up in the rush. When was the last time you took some time out of your busy life just for you?

Join Michelle and Breda- Creative Hearts - Mindfulness with Breda on Sunday, April 19th, for a nurturing Day of Mindfulness and Self-Compassion.

This afternoon is designed as a sanctuary—a dedicated space to quiet the busy mind, calm the body, and reconnect with what truly matters.

What we’ll explore together:
🌿 Mindful Practices: A blend of formal meditations and simple, "mini" practices you can easily weave into your daily life.
✨ Rest & Nourishment: Time to settle into the present moment and nourish your mind, body, and heart.
🎨 Creativity & Stillness: Space to be creative, space to connect, and time to reflect and simply be.

Mindfulness is a superpower🌟

My heart is so full after a beautiful 2 days this week at Holy Family Junior and Senior Schools Ennis ✨

I had the absolute joy of spending time with over a hundred Junior and Senior Infants, introducing them to the magic of mindfulness.

Teaching mindfulness at this age is so special—it’s about helping them find their inner anchor, giving them a superpower to stay grounded no matter how "stormy" their big emotions might feel. ⚓️🧘‍♂️

The children were so busy being creative, we made Breathing Wands to catch our breath and Sensory Critters to remind us to practice our mindfulness at home.

We explored all our senses, focusing on sight and touch with our visual toys and weighted teddies.
Seeing the children give the teddies giant hugs was definitely a highlight of my week🧸❤️

Eight sessions later, and my heart is overflowing. A huge thank you to the teachers and most importantly, to the wonderful children who made this week such a pleasure💝

My Heart is full💓

After 14 wonderful sessions over the last few weeks at Holy Family Junior and Senior Schools Ennis I’ve spent the last week with the wonderful 5th class students, and I am bursting with pride and joy.

There is nothing quite like seeing students recreate what they’ve learned to create a beautiful display in their own "Zen Den."

Watching them master the "Kind Check-in"—learning to gently enquire how their minds, hearts, and bodies feel in the moment—is the greatest gift.

They are learning that once we know how we feel, we can give ourselves exactly what we need. 🌿✨

A massive thank you to the 300+ students and teachers I’ve met this year. Special thanks to Ms. Hickey and Ms. Bridge for your years of unwavering kindness and support and for prioritizing the wellbeing of these young hearts and minds 💝

So blessed to do this work, all my sessions are grounded in the Creative Mindfulness Kids Training

Retreat rescheduled🌻

Unfortunately we have had to postpone our Mindfulness retreat that was scheduled to take place this Saturday due to illness.

We have booked a new date - Sunday the 19th of April from 2- 6 pm. Thank you to all who have booked in so far and we look forward to seeing everyone then.
There are still a limited number of places available if you would like to join Creative Hearts - Mindfulness with Breda and I for a lovely afternoon of nuturing Mindfulness and Self-compassion practices. Take time just for you to rest, recharge and connect💝

What a pleasure being back in the Holy Family Junior and Senior Schools Ennis

My sessions this week with both the 6th and 3rd classes were all about the Kind Check-In.
We’ve been learning how to shine a "loving flashlight" on our inner worlds to see what’s visiting our minds, hearts, and bodies. 🔦💛

What we explored:
* Emotional Messengers: Using emoji characters and body sensation cards, we learned that our feelings and the body sensations that often come with them are natural visitors. Even the uncomfortable ones are just messengers telling us how we are!

* The "Be Kind" Practice: Instead of pushing challenging emotions away, we practised welcoming them. We learned that when we allow our feelings to belong and bring kindness to them they often pass through much quicker. ☁️

By staying in tune with our sensations, we can move from "How am I?" to the ultimate self-care question: "What do I need right now?"
We had fun 🎨 crafting our own unique emotion characters and playing games to build body and emotional awareness.
We practised 🌬️ mini mindful breathing and grounding practices to help support and bring us back to the present moment💝
These teachings which are inspired by the Creative Mindfulness Kids : Mindfully Me help us learn that when we know how we are in this moment, we can resource ourselves with exactly what we need.

My heart is so full today. 🤍

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who travelled from near and far to join our Mindfulness Retreat yesterday. It was a truly special day of easing into stillness, connection and learning how mindfulness supports our overall wellbeing.

Highlights of our journey together:
* Grounding: Using our breath and senses to move into that "rest and digest" state we all need. 🌿
* Creativity: Using music and art to cultivate gratitude—both for our world around us and for ourselves.
* Rest: Closing with a nurturing body scan to fully rest and recharge.

Special thanks to Breda Creative Hearts - Mindfulness with Breda for co-facilitating this retreat and sharing this special day with me, and to my teacher and friend Louise Shanagher Creative Mindfulness Kids Training for the gift of these teachings.
