Everyone at Oakwood Lodge Nursing Home recently celebrated two very special birthdays 🎂💙

A huge Happy 86th Birthday to Ella and a wonderful Happy 97th Birthday to Mary Carmel 🎉

There were smiles, celebrations, and plenty of lovely moments shared as residents and staff came together to mark these special occasions. We hope both ladies had truly fantastic birthdays surrounded by friends and their Oakwood Lodge family 💐

We would also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Declan O’Donoghue and family for the beautiful gifts recently given to our staff. Their kindness and generosity were deeply appreciated by everyone.

It was such a thoughtful gesture to thank our team for the care received and for the warm welcome shown to the family. Moments like these mean so much to all of us and remind us why caring connections are at the heart of everything we do 💙

Pampering Day for our Oakwood Lodge Nursing Home Staff last week by the wonderful Maeve from Forever Therapies

Thank you again to everyone involved in making the day so special treat for the whole team. It was a lovely opportunity to pause, unwind, and show appreciation for the dedication and hard work of our amazing staff.

What a truly special milestone for our Oakwood Lodge Nursing Home resident Joan, who recently attended the wedding of her granddaughter Rachel to Niall, accompanied by our wonderful carer Karen. 💕

At Oakwood Lodge, we plan many outings and memorable moments for our residents, but this occasion was a very special first for us all.

It was truly medicine for the soul to see the pride and happiness on Joan’s face as she celebrated surrounded by her sons, family, and friends on such a joyful day.

On behalf of Divya, our Director of Nursing, and all the team at Oakwood Lodge Nursing Home, we would like to wish Rachel and Niall a lifetime of love, happiness, and blessings together. 💒

Today, on International Nurses Day - May 12th, we celebrate the compassion, dedication, and kindness that nurses bring to the lives of others every single day. 💙

At Oakwood Lodge Nursing Home, we are incredibly proud of our wonderful nursing team who care for our residents with professionalism, warmth, and respect.

To mark the occasion, our residents enjoyed some fun in the sunshine recently with games, laughter, and smiles all around — at a lively parachute game that brought everyone together ☀️🎈

A heartfelt thank you to all nurses everywhere for the amazing work you do and the difference you make in people’s lives each and every day.

A little trip to Italy without leaving home ✈️ is what our Oakwood Lodge Nursing Home Residents & Staff enjoyed on May 7th.

The day was a lovely celebration of culture, community, and classic Italian flavours. Residents and staff were treated to a beautiful menu featuring:

🍅 Tomato & Basil Soup
🥖 Selection of Bruschetta

🍽️ Italian Stuffed Pork Loin
or
🍝 Lasagne with Roast Potatoes

🥔 Roast Potatoes & Mash
🥦 Roasted Vegetables & Green Beans

🍰 Tiramisu or Jelly for dessert

A huge thank you to our amazing Head Chef José 👨‍🍳 and all the kitchen and Healthcare & Nursing team who pulled out all the stops to make the day so enjoyable, memorable, and full of warmth for everyone. Your hard work and dedication are truly appreciated 👏❤️

A lovely afternoon of relaxation at Oakwood Lodge Nursing Home last week, when our residents were treated to a truly indulgent experience with Massage Therapist Maeve 💆‍♀️

They enjoyed soothing hand and head massage therapy, a little pampering, and of course some delicious chocolate treats 🍫💛

To make the day even more special, we rounded it off with a wonderful poetry party — filled with stories, and lovely shared moments 📖
