Today the Residents in Bishopscourt Nursing Home, Cork marked Women’s Little Christmas (Nollaig na mBan) in the best way — with good company, great conversation, and a celebratory glass of 7Up 🥂

Women’s Little Christmas is traditionally celebrated on January 6th, marking the end of the Christmas season. It was a day when women, who had worked tirelessly over the festive period, finally had a chance to rest, go out, or enjoy time together.

The Residents shared what the day meant to them, sparking wonderful conversations and memories from years gone by. One Resident fondly recalled how she would always head into town with her mother for a bit of shopping — and on the way home, they’d stop at Jackie Lennox’s, a much-loved Cork Chipper, for a treat. Stories like these truly brought the past to life.

Moments like today remind us how important it is to celebrate tradition, memory, and connection 💙

Our residents had a wonderful time enjoying:
🎅 Santa delivering gifts – bringing smiles and festive cheer to everyone
🎩 A visit from ‘Tommy Trixter’ the Magician – keeping all laughing with his hilarious antics
🕯️ Crafting beautiful Christmas logs with candles – led by our talented Activities Coordinator, Fiona, adding a personal, festive touch to the tables

It was a season full of joy, laughter, and creativity — making Christmas 2025 truly memorable for our residents ❤️

🎄 Christmas Moments at Tara Winthrop Private Clinic - one of our 10 Grace Healthcare Ireland🎄 where we provide compassionate care for a wide range of residents — including those living with Alzheimer’s and dementia, as well as individuals needing nursing home support or short-term respite care following an operation or hospital stay.

This video captures a quiet, tender side of our Santa visit — residents enjoying the calm, the music, the company, and the sense of togetherness that Christmas brings. While some express their joy outwardly, others take comfort simply in the presence and atmosphere of a shared experience. Even subtle reactions hold meaning, comfort, and connection ❤️

Every resident is valued, respected, and met exactly where they are, with kindness, dignity, and care at the heart of everything we do.

Local National Schools Entertain at Castleross Nursing Home, Carrickmacross in a special series of visits throughout December. A massive thank you to the students and their teachers for all their hard work and practice — each performance was amazing. And we hear that the Residents especially enjoyed the dancing, tin whistle, banjo, and incredible solo singing. Such a special time, filled with music, joy, and community spirit. ❤️

🎄 A Joyful Moment at St. Glady's Nursing Home - one of our 10 Homes 🎄 where Residents filled the room with festive spirit as they sang the beloved hymn “O Come All Ye Faithful”, beautifully led by Sister Murial following Holy Communion.

It was a truly special moment, celebrating community, faith, and the joy of the season together. ❤️

🎄The festive season is in full swing across our 10 Grace Healthcare Ireland Nursing Homes.

Here are some magical moments from Bishopscourt Nursing Home, Cork during their Annual Christmas Market for Charity held on Monday, December 15th ❤️

Residents, staff, and families came together to celebrate, shop for unique gifts, and enjoy the wonderful festive atmosphere.
All proceeds from the market will go to a charity chosen by the residents, spreading the Christmas spirit even further 💫
