Wishing you all a peaceful holiday season.

My deepest gratitude to all my clients for allowing me to hold space for you this year. It's always an honour.

Posted • This is a theme that comes up a lot - the paralyzing fear of making the wrong decision, or the unwillingness to say goodbye and the resulting feelings of ‘stuckness’ that form as a result.

But I have two thoughts -
one is that movement gives information. It’s often the act of choosing that gives you something to respond to.
Lean into one decision and you will see how you really feel about it.

and two is that grief is inherent in growth. Growth requires change, and change often means saying goodbye to one familiarity in order to experience something new, and it takes our brain & being some time to acclimate to the new normal, but it does acclimate when we give ourselves time.
It requires allowing the different seasons to change, and opening ourselves to the gifts, joys, and challenges the new season has to offer.

But if we refuse to let go of our familiarities, our comforts, or our safe zones, then we don’t get the opportunity to expand our edges. To try our skills in different environments, to meet and connect with new people, or to simply experiences sensations or opportunities we couldn’t have imagined possible.

It requires letting go. Over and over again.
Allowing the discomfort of newness, and giving ourselves the space to see what opportunities arise in the new season.
And I do believe it’s worth it.

Give yourself all of the time you need.
Remind yourself just how brave you are.
Treat yourself with love, in every form that love can take.
And ask for love from others whenever you need it, too.

I was delighted to be in such wonderful company at Kara Connect's fireside chat yesterday morning. We had a thoroughly engaging discussion around mental health and wellbeing and it was heartening to see so many HR and senior business leaders committed to supporting their employees. A huge thank you to the team for the invite and for putting together such a lovely event.

Your body is trying its best to protect you despite all that you have been through. It may have experienced, trauma, neglect, not feeling worthy, abandonment, abuse, or loss.

What it needs is not to be fixed, it needs to be nurtured and cared for. After all, it has got you this far and kept you alive through all that you have endured.

You are more than your productivity by the way. You don’t have to earn your right to live on the planet by being as productive as possible. Don’t let capitalism trick you into believing your worth is only defined by how hard you work. You are allowed to rest without guilt.

Let’s debunk & clarify some commonly misunderstood or misrepresented psychology terms.
⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The general rule of thumb for figuring out if something is ’pop psychology’ is that the statements will be very simplified and sound like they are applicable to everything and everyone. Real human psychology & behavior is nuanced and it’s difficult to make sweeping generalisations and statements that would be accurate for every situation.
