💜 Something very special is coming…

A few months ago I shared a little sneak peek of a new project, and now I can finally tell you a bit more!

✨ I’m launching the Professional Diploma in Neurodiversity-Affirming Therapy: Political Roots, Social Justice, and Clinical Application. A 20-hour CPD diploma for therapists and professionals.

This isn’t just another training.
What makes it different? It’s deep, in-depth, and uniquely combines:

➡️The political and social roots of the neurodiversity paradigm

➡️Social justice frameworks for truly affirming practice

➡️Practical tools and strategies you can use directly with clients

➡️Exploration of intersectionality, trauma, and GSRD in neurodivergent experiences

💡 Plus… there will be a very special guest speaker in the final module 👀 (I can’t say who just yet, but stay tuned... details coming in the next few days!).🥳🥳

📅 Dates, registration, and full details will be on the website very soon. If you want to be the first to know when sign-ups open, send me a DM or comment on this post✨

I’m so excited to finally share this project!! An ideal opportunity for therapists ready to deepen their practice, challenge norms, and truly affirm neurodivergent clients 💜💜💜

Thank you Tylenol for making me autistic 💊😍💜💜💜 I couldn’t have done it without you.

✨ Important note ✨
This post is a joke. Humor helps me cope with the heaviness of the current state of the world. At Violet Psychology, we want to be clear: TYLENOL DOES NOT CAUSE AUTISM. VACCINES DO NOT CAUSE AUTISM.

We are tired of society treating autism as if it were a disease to be eradicated, always searching for a “cause” instead of accepting us as we are. Autism is not an illness, not a tragedy, and not something that needs to be prevented.

For context: Tylenol was first sold in the 1950s. Autistic traits have been described in historical accounts long before that, in the 1700s.

We are tired of your constant ignorance and your ableism. Leave us alone 👊🏽

These are just some of the things I love about being a therapist ✨ (swipe!) ***rtherapist

☀️Understanding AuDHD Support group✨

The constant tug-of-war between 🧘‍♀️ routine and ✨ novelty. Needing alone time like oxygen 😮‍💨 but also craving connection and fun times with friends 🫂
Endlessly overstimulated 🤯 and under-stimulated 😵‍💫
Social hangovers, sensory overload, task paralysis… sound familiar?

For many of us, discovering we’re AuDHD (autistic + ADHD) as adults feels like finally finding language for things we always felt. But then comes the crash...realizing there’s barely any support, especially for adults… and especially from a neuroaffirming perspective.

That’s why we created the 'AuDHD Support Group'
A space to learn, unmask, and be with people who really understand.

You’re not too much. You’re not broken. You’re just AuDHD. And you’re not alone! ✊🏽♾️

Details:
✨ 4-week online group (4th to 25th of November)
⏳ 1h 30m per session | Max 25 people
💰 €160 total (€40/session)
📍 Camera off optional, typing welcome
📝 Resources included

We’ll cover:
🔹Navigating the Audhd experience
🔹 Masking and burnout
🔹 Sensory needs and regulation
🔹Building a life that works for your brain

Led by AuDHD facilitators.

✨ Can we normalize asking and sharing accessibility needs? ✨

When we tie accessibility only to diagnosis or medical labels, we risk sending the message: “you’re wrong, and that’s why you need this.”

But the truth is that most of the time, it’s the spaces, systems, and expectations that aren’t accessible, not the people.

Accessibility isn’t a “special request” or a sign of being “broken.”
Framing it like that reinforces ableist narratives and keeps people excluded.

So what if we treated accessibility like any other part of being human? Something we can share openly, without shame, because everyone has needs.

Some of my accessibility needs are:

- I usually need a picture of new spaces in advance so I can process and feel familiar.I don’t know how to read maps, so sometimes I need someone to walk me through the space.

- I prefer written communication or video calls. Phone calls aren’t accessible to me.

What are yours? 💜

September is Bi Visibility Month 🌈💜💖💙

There are still so many misconceptions and stigma around bis*xual people. Invisibility is one of the biggest issues we face. People often make assumptions based on who we’re dating, so we’re read as either gay or straight depending on that. It erases bis*xuality, even though we make up the largest percentage of the LGBTQ+ community.

I am still bi, regardless of who I am dating.

But invisibility is only part of the problem. I often hear people say that bi people don’t face “real harm” and that it’s “just about not being seen as q***r enough.” The reality is very different. The stats speak for themselves:

➡️Bis*xual people are more likely to experience eating disorders, self-harm, depression, and anxiety than both heteros*xual and gay/lesbian peers.

➡️Around 40% of bis*xual people have considered or attempted su***de, which is a rate higher than other groups in the LGBTQ+ community.

➡️Bis*xual women in particular experience intimate partner violence (r**e, stalking, and physical assault) at far higher rates than le****ns, gay men, or heteros*xual women.

All of this is tied to stigma, erasure, and marginalization. It has a real impact on our safety and mental health.

💜 Being bi doesn’t make life easier. It makes us more vulnerable in ways people often don’t see. That’s why visibility matters.

Hey there! 😊 I thought I’d take a moment to introduce myself.

I am Silvia, an AuDHD, dyspraxic♾️ q***r🏳️‍🌈 therapist. I use all pronouns: They/she/he (because I am greedy! 😄 I am also bis*xual and polyamorous).

✨A bit about my interests and myself: I love animals and feel a strong connection with them. I have a cat and a dog (swipe to see them! 🐱🐶). I am from a small city in Spain that I never liked. I moved to Dublin in 2019.
I have a chronic illness.
I always wanted to study Psychology and had struggled with my mental health since I was a teenager. Coming to the realization that I am neurodivergent has helped me a lot.

I feel very privileged to be part of someone’s journey in improving their happiness and quality of life and to hopefully contribute in a positive (small) way to it 🌟

✨ A bit about my qualifications and approach:

I hold a Master’s in General Health Psychology from Spain, which qualifies psychologists there to provide talk therapy and assessments.

Here in Ireland, I’m fully accredited 🎓 as a Health Psychologist with the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI), and I’ve also completed further training in Pluralistic Counselling and Psychotherapy. I now offer talk therapy and I specialise in working with the LGBTQ+ and Neurodivergent community (specifically autism, ADHD, dyspraxia and dyslexia) 🌈🌈
I am also the clinical director of Violet psychology 💜

My approach is rooted in transfeminist theory and intersectionality, creating a ther**eutic space that is LGBTQIA+ affirming and neurodiversity affirming. I strongly believe in social justice, advocacy, and reducing power imbalances ✊

I warmly welcome individuals within the kink and polyamorous communities and I also am s*x worker positive. My practice also extends support to individuals managing chronic illness or disability🌈🌺

Thank you for taking the time to learn a bit about me! I'm excited to connect with you all and support you on your journey🥰🙌

I don’t know how I manage to find these amazing human beings, and I’m so grateful to work with people I cannot only call my colleagues, but my friends 💜

We get to show up as our weirdest realest selves. I love that we have created a space where no one has to apologise for being fully themselves and that we can share memes, deep chats, creativity, psychology, and goofy times!!👏🏽

Thank you for being you 🤗
