Read "Back from the Brink" a case study about a patient with catastrophic tinnitus who no longer needed medication to regulate her sleep and mood following tinnitus treatment with .
When this patient presented to Emily E. McMahan, AuD at Alaska Hearing & Tinnitus Center, her tinnitus was 76/100 on the THI. The tinnitus was so pervasive, she experienced self-harm ideations, and was using a combination of Ambien, Zoloft, Xanax, Ativan and Lexapro to regulate sleep and mood.
Within 12-weeks of initiating treatment with Lenire, the patient's tinnitus improved so much that she was able to discontinue all medication. One year later, her THI has decreased to 16 and she now feels like she has her life back.
The patient sent her audiologist an inscribed vase with a poignant message that read: “Never give up on the hard patients as we still have beautiful work left to complete in this world.”

As Lenire gains traction in clinical practice, real-world cases like this help clarify its role in managing complex tinnitus presentations, particularly following surgical interventions.
