This year, I choose to be kinder to myself.

Holding the happy baby pose for just 30 seconds can unlock powerful benefits for your entire body. This simple movement, often seen in yoga routines, offers deep hip and lower back release, spinal decompression, and a mental reset all at once.

By lying on your back, lifting your legs, and gently holding your feet, the pose naturally stretches tight hip flexors, eases lumbar tension, and grounds your nervous system. The position mimics the posture of a content baby, encouraging calm breathing and body awareness.

Experts explain that this posture not only increases flexibility but also activates the parasympathetic nervous system, the part responsible for rest and recovery. Within seconds, it begins to quiet the mind, slow the heart rate, and reduce stress hormones.

It’s particularly helpful after long periods of sitting, stressful workdays, or before sleep. Regular use of this pose may also improve posture, enhance digestion, and bring emotional balance.

Even beginners can practice it safely at home with no special equipment. Add it to your daily routine as a short, effective ritual to reconnect with your body and breath.

Just 30 seconds a day can make a noticeable difference in how your body feels and how your mind processes tension. Small habits like this create lasting change.

Our first practice in the series invites you to return to a felt sense. Through yoga asana and steady breath, we reconnect with how the body actually feels from the inside out.

This kind of sensing helps settle the nervous system, supports clearer thinking, and brings the body and brain back into conversation.
A mindful reset and a soft beginning to the Return series and to the fresh new year.

I am beyond grateful to practice together. Let me know how this session goes for you in the comments.

All my love,
Adriene

May the New Year Be Kind to You

May the new year be kind to you.
May it unfold gently,
with moments of warmth that find you when you least anticipate them
and with simple lasting joys that deepen with time.

May there be peace in the ordinary days,
light in the heavier ones,
and kindness, given and received, woven through it all.

May you feel supported when you are tired,
hopeful when the road feels uncertain,
and grateful for the quiet blessings that often go unnoticed.

May what you carry become lighter,
what you seek come closer,
and what you love continue to grow.

And may this new year meet you with grace,
offering space to heal,
room to dream,
and the reassurance that good things are still finding their way to you.

When I say ‘happy new year’,
I’m not for a moment,
expecting this to occur,
for that is not possible,
a year must be all things.

Happiness must come and go,
like the tides and the winds,
just as sadness,
and all the emotions in between.

When I say ‘happy new year’,
I’m really wishing you,
a baseline of peace,
of gratitude.

Because if you can sit with these things,
for the most part,
happiness will thrive,
when it does arrive,
and sadness will know its place in the mix.

If you can nourish these things,
daily,
you will also grow hope,
for it flourishes in such soil.

And hope is the key,
to this enigmatic state
of ‘happiness’ we seek.

When I say ‘happy new year’,
I’m really wishing you more happy days,
than sad days,
more joy than misery,
more laughter than tears…
and the wisdom to accept,
that they all belong.

Happy new year, my friends.
Happy new year.

I’ll be teaching at Festival Mná this Saturday, and I genuinely love what this day represents — women gathering, learning, resting, moving, and reconnecting 💛

If you’ve been feeling like:
– you need a day just for you
– you’d love something gentle to look forward to
– you want community without pressure
This could be a really lovely way to welcome the New Year.

✨ New Year’s offer: Buy one ticket, get one free
€70 = 2 tickets (kids & teens go free)

The day includes yoga, movement, breathwork, cacao and women’s circles — a full day of nourishment and connection.

If there’s a woman in your life who might benefit from this, please feel free to pass it on.
