“Refractive Error Centile Curves for Asian and Western Children and Adolescents: An Individual Level Meta-Analysis.”

A new summary report from the Global Myopia Public Health Summit highlights urgent gaps and opportunities in combating the worldwide rise of myopia.

📈 Myopia rates continue to climb, yet many regions lack reliable data and access to cost-effective interventions.
🌍 Large-scale government initiatives — including school vision screening, outdoor activity promotion, and public awareness campaigns — show promise for slowing progression.
💡 The report calls for stronger practitioner education, improved data collection, and evaluation of intervention cost-effectiveness to guide sustainable strategies.
