//Miles For Smiles 2026 - Collaboration with Merci Charity Boutique Association

🌟 Join us for an inspiring fundraiser in collaboration with Merci Charity Boutique Association!

EDSA is proud to collaborate with Merci Charity Boutique Association, an organization actively transforming access to oral healthcare for children in vulnerable communities across Romania. Through innovative mobile dental clinics, Merci Charity provides free preventive and curative dental care to children who otherwise would have little to no access to such services—many for the very first time in their lives. 🦷❤️

As part of this collaboration, we are excited to introduce Miles for Smiles — a charity event where participants will run, bike, or swim to collectively cover a set distance. By turning movement into impact, we aim to raise awareness for oral health inequalities and support Merci Charity’s mission.

Once our distance goal is reached, a donation will be made to the fundraiser, directly contributing to improved access to dental care and brighter smiles for children in need.

Stay tuned — registration will open soon, and everyone will have the chance to move for a cause and make a real difference. 💙

// EDSA Section 💡Spotlight of the Month — 🥁 ANEMD (Portugal)! 🥰

🇵🇹 ANEMD (Associação Nacional de Estudantes de Medicina Dentária) is the group that speaks for all dental students in Portugal. They look after about 3,700 students across seven different schools. 🌍

One thing that makes them special is that every dental student in Portugal is a member for free. The universities pay for the group so the students do not have to.

The team is led by 17 board members and 38 volunteers who work very hard. Their great work helps connect Portuguese students with other dental students all over the world.

ANEMD’s best work this year was hosting the 75th EDSA Meeting in Coimbra 🤍. This was a massive international event that showed how well Portuguese students can work together to welcome guests.

In the last two years, they also ran a student congress called SAEMD and a project called "Route of Smiles." This project helps people in countryside areas learn how to look after their teeth. Their next big plan is the SAEMD event in the upcoming year. 📢

💌 Right now, dental students in Portugal face a tough challenge - there are many new dentists, but there are not always enough jobs for everyone. ANEMD is working hard to help students find their way in the profession.🦷

We at EDSA are very proud to show the fantastic work and effort of ANEMD! 💙💭🫂
