I have not been to Romania for nine years, and I do not believe I will ever return. Perhaps only as an exception, if it were strictly for a family matter. I am horrified by the prevailing mentality of the people: the fact that they support mediocrity and exclude excellence. This is how they were educated, and the same pattern can be seen even among teachers, who attack excellence and encourage mediocrity.
How did that teacher dare insult me and treat me poorly just because I did not adopt her method of teaching? Madam, look at the results first! For teachers in Romania, the fact that I was admitted first to high school means nothing. They glorify mediocrity and, by doing so, block any change. If there are no quality teachers, students cannot become better either.
Beneath the level of an intellectual class flawed in its thinking, the situation is truly dire. And yet, people seem content with their outcome. They always blame the leaders, instead of admitting that they are not educated to be fair, honest, and decent. You realize I am speaking about an entire nation. If I cannot live among them, it means the problem is serious.
I criticize you, but where are your results? I understand self-praise, lies, and arrogance, but I always return to reality: there are no results. You can continue this way for another hundred years, but do not expect any change in Romania with the kind of education you provide.
