In life, we all need those special people who become our cheerleaders.

They are the ones who see your brilliance and reflect it back to you.

They hold that unwavering vision for you, even when you cannot see it yourself.

They lift you up when you stumble, offer support, and cheer you on through every twist and turn.

They remind you of your potential, your strength and your worth, especially when you forget it.

There are enough critics out there - your inner critic being the most destructive.

So choose differently and pay attention to those that surround you.

Self-care is a term we hear so often, and it usually brings to mind bubble baths, relaxation, and pampering ourselves. But have you ever thought about self-care in terms of your energy?

Your energy is a precious resource, and just like your physical, mental, and emotional well-being, it deserves your attention. Here are 3 ways to make self-care about nurturing your energy:

1️⃣ Protect Your Energy: Be mindful of the people and environments you surround yourself with. Set boundaries and be selective about the energies you allow into your life. It's okay to say no when something doesn't align with your well-being.

2️⃣ Maintain Your Energy: Your energy needs regular tending. Engage in activities that recharge you. Whether it's spending time in nature, practicing yoga, or enjoying a quiet moment with a good book, make sure to replenish your energy reserves.

3️⃣ Clear Your Energy: Just as we cleanse our bodies and homes, it's essential to clear our energy field. Self-Reiki is a wonderful practice for this. Reiki allows you to release stagnant energy, promote balance, and invite in positive, healing energy.

Your energy runs along meridians or pathways throughout your body, your subtle or astral body.

Currents of life force energy flow through these channels and the junctions where the channels meet are called Chakras

In Sanskrit, the word “chakra” means “disk” or “wheel”. These wheels of spinning energy each correspond to major organs and they each radiate a specific colour and energy. Each chakra relates to specific spiritual, emotional, psychological, and physical aspects of our being too.

There are seven main Chakras, though you have an infinite number throughout your body. Each of your 7 Chakras has a specific vibration, colour, symbol and sound associated with them.

To function at their best, your chakras need to stay open or balanced.

If your chakras are not spinning then they cannot transform and direct healing energy around the body. Energy can get stuck or blocked and this is where Reiki can be used to restore balance and harmony to the body, mind and spirit.

World Mental Health Day highlights the importance of caring for and supporting our own mental health ✨

Your mental health is just as important as your physical, emotional and spiritual well-being.

The energetic field that surrounds your physical body has layer upon layer - known as your Aura.

One of these layers is your Mental body. The command centre for your thoughts, beliefs and mental patterns.

It is where your conscious and subconscious mind reside.

When your Mental body is out of balance, it can lead to stress, anxiety and overwhelm.

Have you ever had a sneaky, persistent feeling that you’re not as capable as others think you are? Or maybe you have felt like you’re not qualified for the success you’ve achieved? Like it’s all a big fluke, and you’re about to be exposed as a fraud?

That, my friend, is the notorious Imposter Syndrome.

It can affect anyone, regardless of their accomplishments, and it often holds us back from reaching our full potential.

Imposter Syndrome can manifest as self-doubt, fear of failure and perfectionism.

It’s like a dark cloud over our achievements, preventing us from fully embracing our successes.

So how can you combat it?

The answer is self-awareness and self-compassion.

🫶🏻 First of all, recognise that feeling like an imposter is so common. You are not alone!

🪷 Embrace your achievements, big or small, and acknowledge your hard work.

🧡 Be kind to yourself. Remember that making mistakes is part of the learning process.

🌱 Push out of your comfort zone. Growth happens when you challenge yourself.

✨ Practice meditation, mindfulness and self-reflection to quiet that inner critic.

👥 Connect with a support network, accountability buddy or mentor who can provide perspective and encouragement.

Imposter Syndrome may appear in your life, but it doesn’t have to run the show.

You are capable, you are deserving, and you are enough.
Break free from any self-doubt and celebrate how amazing you are!

This all relates to your Root Chakra - the Chakra that is associated with survival.

If your survival is feeling threatened, for whatever reason, your number one priority is to bring your whole being back into a state of safety and security, in the present moment.

Feelings of fear and anxiety can keep us focused on the past or the future.

So I want you to STOP and take a few deep BREATHS. Feel your breath move in through your nose, into your chest and continue down into your belly. You can place your hands on your tummy and feel it expand outwards as you take this in breath. Now reverse the process and exhale with a sigh or any audible noise that feels good and think of the word RELEASE.

Take as many of these deep breaths as you need.

Now FEEL your connection to the Earth - through your feet, your seat or any other part of you that feels that contact. For an immediate grounding experience, place your bare feet on the EARTH.

KNOW that you are always supported by Mother Earth.

Feel or See energetic roots growing from your feet (or any body part that is in contact with the ground). Notice if they have a colour, a pattern or texture. Feel or See them moving into through the ground, moving further, deep down into the Earth’s core. This is your anchor.

Now feel or see beautiful healing energy move up along these roots, all the way into your body.

You can repeat Affirmations such as ‘I am Safe,’ ‘I am Supported,’ and ‘I am Grounded,’ to anchor in this feeling. Placing your hands on your heart space ❤️

Taking a few moments to be present and feel supported, BEFORE attempting to problem solve, will allow you to access that creative side of your brain.

There is ALWAYS a solution - but first - you need to balance your Root Chakra ❤️

I will never stop taking about Reiki and Energy work (or play as I like to call it!) 😉

That is how transformational it is.

Reiki literally means "Universal Life Force” and relates to the powerful belief that everything around us, including ourselves, is energy.

So, why should you dive into the world of Reiki and make it a part of your life?

✨ Understanding Your Energy Field ✨

Reiki helps you tap into the incredible energy that is already within YOU. It's like discovering a hidden treasure chest that has been waiting for you to unlock it.

We ALL have access to this and Reiki will help you to make sense of it.

If you are anything like me, you do not do well with disorder, mess, chaos 🤯

I like order and clarity…wrapped up nicely with a bow 🎁

But as we all know, life is not quite like this. It will throw challenges, unexpected events and chaos your way.

So how do we navigate this?

I invite you to Embrace the Chaos 🧡

Now I admit that I am definitely not an expert in this, in fact it has been something that I’ve been working through recently.

The constant need to be in control and have order - it’s a bit of a losing game.

Instead, how about you -

✨ Acknowledge that this too will pass

✨ Don’t get too caught up in having to figure it all out NOW

✨ Give yourself Grace

✨ Take it one step at a time

A seemingly easy question…but not always!

Knowing how we feel can be tricky. So many of us have a mindset around feelings and emotions where we label them ‘good’ or ‘bad.’ And perhaps you were never allowed or encouraged to express certain feelings when you were young. Society also has a part to play in this. Certain emotions are deemed as positive while others are negative. Then there is the toxic positivity trend - think positive thoughts only…you can see why this can be tricky.

When asked how I am feeling - I used to commonly say ‘I’m ok’ or ‘I am grand’, not exactly expressing a feeling is it?

Having the ability to get in touch with your feelings and emotions involves full embodiment. When we are ‘in our bodies’ we can tap into our feelings and from that place we are able to express them. Remember, there are no good or bad feelings…they just are.

ALL feelings are for feeling.

So how do you become embodied?
Ooh I love this so much because there are so many ways to do it - think ANYTHING that gets you INTO your body.

🍃 Physical movement like yoga, earthing or walking.

✨ Spiritual practices like meditation, chanting or Reiki.

🤗 Emotional practices like crying, laughing and every expression in between.

🪇 If in doubt - dance or shake it out!

I have included a Feelings and Emotions chart in this post as I found it so helpful in the past.
