Shirley's academic background in Economics and French from University College Cork, along with her international experience, has shaped her unique perspective on transformation. Her focus is clear: putting the consumer at the heart of decision-making.

In 2022, Shirley expanded her expertise with an M.Sc. in Financial Services, supported by us. Today, she's playing a key role on a groundbreaking technology-enabled business transformation for a major insurer. This multi-year programme deploys global expertise across enterprise technology delivery, data, and AI.

But Shirley's impact doesn't stop there. She's actively involved in career coaching and introducing new colleagues to the exciting world of financial services. She believes in the power of transformation to enhance customer experiences, offering flexibility and control through digital and AI-enabled processes.

Last week, we hosted our first Padel event at Padel Dome, Santry 🎾. Over a hundred colleagues from all departments attended, ranging from associate to partner, and catering to all skill levels—from complete beginners to pro players.

This inaugural event launched our PwC padel club 🎉. We had winners in each level (beginner, intermediate, advanced) 🏆, who will represent us in the upcoming Big 4 Padel Battle. We look forward to cheering them on in May 👏🙌.

Meet Lauren, a Manager in our Cybersecurity team in Dublin

Lauren's journey is as diverse as it is inspiring. With a degree in International Relations and Finance from the University of Southern California, Lauren's path has been anything but conventional.

After launching her career in consulting in the US, focusing on digital forensics, she embraced an exciting opportunity to dive into the dynamic world of motorsports. But her passion for cybersecurity brought her to PwC Ireland, where she now leads initiatives to enhance cybersecurity measures for a client.

Lauren's work is pivotal in implementing advanced solutions like Akamai WAF to bolster DDoS defences. Her role doesn't stop there—she's also part of a team crafting our threat intelligence offerings.

🎄 Celebrating the Festive Spirit at PwC 🎄

It's been a busy week filled with joy and community spirit.

Last weekend, our Parents and Carers pillar brought together friends and family for a magical visit to see Santa at Palmerstown House Estate House.

Our team donned their finest Christmas jumpers, all in support of our charity partners. Christmas Jumper Day isn't just about festive attire—it's was a meaningful way to give back and raising funds for Focus Ireland and Simon Community Northern Ireland, supporting those in need.

We were thrilled to welcome the talented school choir from St. Laurence O'Toole's NS for a heartwarming performance.

Ian, renowned for his international rugby career and advocacy for the visually impaired, shared his powerful story of resilience and the importance of teamwork. His journey reminds us that inclusion is not just a principle—it’s an action we take every day.
