Racism harms mental health.

Exclusion, microaggressions, and stereotypes aren’t harmless - they take a real toll. They create unsafe spaces and deepen struggles for racially minoritised members of our community.

We are delighted to share the Gay Health Network Annual Report 2024 – Celebrating 30 Years of Community Action

We’re proud to share the GHN Annual Report 2024, marking three decades since our founding in 1994.

Over the past year, GHN continued to work with and for our communities — providing trusted s*xual health information and amplifying voices across Ireland’s LGBTQI+ sector.

🔹 Key Highlights from 2024:
• 2.3M+ Meta impressions & 44.9K Man2Man.ie visits
• National Hepatitis B Awareness Campaign and launch of DoxyPEP interim guidance
• EMIS-2024 research
• Gay Health Forum 2024 at Dublin Castle
• Making Waves film screened internationally and now streaming on RTÉ Player
• Preparation for our GHN30 exhibition, May 2025 at Trinity College Dublin

None of this would be possible without our incredible network members, volunteers, funders (HSE S*xual Health Programme, DCEDIY), and community partners across Ireland. Thank you!

💬 “This milestone offers a moment to reflect on the sustained collaboration that defines GHN – listening, responding, and ensuring everyone in our community has the tools to live healthier, safer, and more informed lives.”
— Alan Coyne, Chairperson, GHN

A huge thank you to everyone who made our Gay Health Forum on Friday, September 26th, such a resounding success!

We were delighted to host a room filled with esteemed guests, healthcare professionals, and community advocates for a day dedicated to crucial updates in s*xual health. The agenda was packed with vital information, and we are incredibly grateful for the robust and insightful discussions that followed.

A special thank you to Minister Mary Murnane O'Connor for her opening address and to our distinguished speakers for sharing their invaluable expertise including, Professor Ellen Crushell, Deputy Chief Medical Officer and Professor Fiona Lyons, Clinical Lead with the HSE S*xual Health Programme (SHP).

Also a huge thanks to all our speakers and attendees for making the forum very special.

We are also profoundly grateful to IHREC Comms The Irish Human Rights and Equality Commission and their wonderful staff for hosting us in such a fitting and welcoming venue. Your support was instrumental to the day's success.

Seeing such a strong commitment to advancing LGBTQ+ healthcare from across the public and voluntary sectors is truly inspiring. The collaboration, genuine discussion and shared purpose in that room are what drive real progress.
