The services at Highfield Healthcare are regulated by HIQA and the Mental Health Commission.

A very warm welcome to our new first-year DCU Mental Health Nursing students who
joined us this week.

It was a pleasure for our senior management team to meet them as they begin this exciting and meaningful journey in mental health nursing.

We’re proud to support their clinical education here at Highfield Healthcare, helping them develop the skills, confidence, and compassion that define exceptional mental health nurses.

We wish each of them every success as they start this new chapter and look forward to being part of their learning and growth in the years ahead.

Celebrating 200 Years of Care, Commitment & Community 🕊️

Last Thursday we marked a truly special milestone Highfield Healthcare’s 200th anniversary 💙

To celebrate, we unveiled “Generations of Care”, a stunning new sculpture by John Coll, created from casts of the hands of our staff and family, arranged in the shape of a heart. It symbolises care, connection, and continuity across generations the values at the heart of everything we do.

✨ Nursing Homes Week 2025 – “A Taste of Home” ✨

We had a truly special week here at Highfield as we celebrated Nursing Homes Week with the theme “A Taste of Home.” 🏡💚

Our residents and staff enjoyed a variety of wonderful activities, including:
🎶 Live music
🍰 Baking sessions with favourite family recipes
☕ Talk ’n’ Tea with a fun quiz
🦙 A memorable visit from our alpaca friends at Cornstown House!

One of the week’s most important moments was celebrating two incredible milestones:
🌟 25 years of dedication from Cheriel Songkit
🌟 26 years of service from Colleen Burke

We are so grateful for their commitment and the joy they bring to Highfield every day. 💐💚
