CanTeen Ireland is a nationwide support group for young people between the ages of 12 and 25 years who have or have had cancer. We have weekends away, day support meetings and produce a biannual newsletter as well as age appropriate information about cancer.

Weekend at Ballyhass & Kanturk 15th till 17th of August 2025

Hi everyone!

Hope you're all well and enjoyed our weekend at Tanagh OETC. So we're heading South in August and going to Ballyhass Adventure Centre in Mallow Co. Cork on Friday 15th until Sunday 17th of August 2025. For more information check out their website www.ballyhass.ie. We are meeting at Heuston Station at 4.00pm on Friday the 15th of August to get the 5.00pm train to Mallow, Cork and will then get a bus to Kanturk.
On Sunday 17th of August we are getting the 3.28pm train from Mallow and will be back at Heuston Station in Dublin at 5.38pm. So, plan your travel arrangements around then, and make sure you allow for delays with rush hour traffic on the Friday afternoon. . We are staying at Infinity Language School, Kanturk, Co Cork (which is a 10 minute drive from Ballyhass).

There will be lots of land, water and height activities to partake in, including rock climbing, zip line, abseiling, aqua park, kayaking, archery, challenge zone, low ropes and lots more! As usual members can bring a teenaged brother, sister or friend with them on the weekend. There will be a nurse accompanying the group, so bring all medications with you.

The weekend will cost €20.00 per person! To book a placeyou need to complete a booking form and it into me as soon as possible. Please make sure you complete all sections, particularly the Consent for Medical Treatment Section. Each person going on the weekend must complete a form! Places are limited on this weekend, so to avoid disappointment book early. Please return your completed forms to CanTeen Ireland, Carmichael Centre, North Brunswick St, Dublin 7. If you are a new member or would like to give me a ring about the weekend away, you can phone me at 01-8722012, Monday – Thursday, 9am- 5pm or email me at evelyn@canteen.ie. If everyone could take an Antigen test that morning or the day before we would really appreciate it. We will try to keep everyone as safe as possible!
