Hayoka Yoga with Amy Kokoszka

Hayoka Yoga with Amy Kokoszka Sharing Ideas on Yin and Ashtanga Yoga, Nutrition, Meditation, Addiction, Loving and Letting Go.

Hayoka is a Native American term given to me when I was a young girl. My hope is that I can help those around me to be catalyst for their own change; through my teaching of yoga, on my intimate retreats and through discussion on being a wild and free human in this day and age.

It’s that time of the year when we are yearning for sun, doing our best to feel better and overdosing on vitamin D. I work with a lot of women and many can attest to the benefits of a reset, a deep cleanse of the system. One good detox can change your mood entirely. You begin remember what it is to feel amazing and you leave with tools to maintain that feeling.

Detoxing our bodies and bringing awareness to our nervous systems is a game changer. The bodies intelligence and awareness of what it needs and what it does not need are magnified on these weekends. This is not just about getting ride of the excess stored s@“t in the intestinal track, (although that can happen) this is about giving that second brain a chance to think, digest and get clear.

How you absorb nutrients and process waist, the way your brain functions and your immune system responds to a light cleanse is remarkable.

Whether you have chronic pain, struggle with menopause symptoms, or perimenopause,
or you are trying to get pregnant, drop weight, clear your mind and just feel better, any and all of these reasons are reasons to join.

We turn off our phones, bring our wellies, bathing suits, books, journals that favourite cozy set and we show up to be in nature and with other like minded woman.

Please send a private message to join. Or to ask any question you may have.

Did I mention it is in one of the prettiest locations in West Cork. Well one of my favourites. .hideaways

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Much love.
Amy

I had to commit. I still do.
To steadiness. To self honesty. To staying with what is real.

Resurrection, for me, is not belief.
It is a slow rebuilding through discipline and repetition.

Women Who Run With the Wolves is complex.
This is an active study and a somatic practice.
We work with the material through the body, not just the mind.

I am doing this work myself.

Begins January 26th. Sundays 7 to 9 PM GMT.

Christmas often amplifies what we can no longer carry.
Roles. Languages. Expectations. Even spiritual ones.

This isn’t an invitation to change anything.
It’s an invitation to listen.

With love,
Amy

Dec 29 7 to 9 pm join the first FREE workshop in a series of workshops called Women & Wolves. With the incredible support of and her brilliant research mind, (one of her many talents) we journey into the world of the Wild Woman Archetype. Think of the wild as an innate expression of the soul, its natural path, meaning you were born with this! Think of a woman, you perhaps, walking barefoot on a beach, clear headed and alert. Think of the caterpillar naturally, but not without difficulty emerging from the web. Think of the wolf in the desert in the forests in the deep woods, hunting, cuddling, directing and lovingly moving about her life.

When Clarrisa Pinkola Estes said in the first line of her book, ‘wild life like the wild woman are endangered species’, this should have perked up your ears. This should be the sentence of all sentences, the one that makes you worry, and remember! For it is your sovereignty you and it is also your choice, for freedom does not come without work, and then a continuous maintenance of this work, an including and subtracting.

There are many powerful, influential woman who have gifted us teachings, not just Woman who run with the Wolves, there are many, and so we will explore them durning these workshops. Amy will weave the teachings of other great female leaders, including her own insights and practices. We together will remember the old stories, which sound the same but in a different outfit, these old wise teachings are embedded n our bones.

Dates of the 18 workshops Dan be found on hayokayoga.org details
In Bio.

If you want to join the free session you must send your email in a private message.

“Wildlife and wild women are both endangered species.”
Why is that?

Why are women becoming an endangered species? Do you see this happening in modern times? When I say this, I mean: do you see a kind of diminishing, a weakening, a regressing in certain aspects of a woman’s ability to hone in on what is important in her life, in her handmade life?

In this six month study program, we explore the book Women Who Run With the Wolves, but not exclusively. We are going to look at other important female authors and their contributions to teaching us. But the real question is: are we willing to listen?

Would taking this book apart, chapter by chapter, in a guided format help you gain the information needed to apply this very particular Wild Woman archetype medicine to your life?

Wild is often misrepresented.
We do not mean wild as in stupid, crazy, doing silly or unintelligent things. We mean wild as in wildly intuitive, wildly sensing, wildly loving, unafraid of being messy or earthy, unafraid of the natural cycles, the ebb and flow, unafraid of walking the earth in integrity. That is the wildness this six month program is about.

Within each two hour session, we will review important pieces from the book. We will apply specific somatic and embodied work to help move the body, to release, to shake, and to help transform th information we are getting. We will have open and thoughtful discussions about applying and unlearning, and then relearning, the real moral code and lessons that Clarissa has been attempting to gift us in this beautiful book.

This book has inspireded this course. I have been a yoga practitioner for over 25 years and have taken women on retreats for the last 10 years. This has been some of the most powerful shift work I have seen women experience by using the tools and lessons she points out.

I invite you to join us and learn these lessons as well.
Details are in the bio on my website.

Religion and Faith

A Needed Distinction
Religion is a system. It is a collection of doctrines, stories, rituals, and social rules that grew over centuries. It can offer community, meaning, and structure, but it can also reinforce hierarchy, dogma, and gendered power.

Faith is an inner orientation.
It is a way of surrendering, listening, trusting, and being in relationship with what we call Spirit, God, the Divine, or universal truth.
Faith does not require an institution. It does not belong to one time, one culture, or one scripture.

Throughout history, people have always moved in and out of religious traditions during times of social uncertainty. This is a well documented pattern in sociology.

Our Story

Hayoka is a Native American term given to me when I was a young girl. It can be defined as a trickster and a catalyst for change. My hope is that I can help those around me to be catalyst for their own change; through my teaching of yoga, on one of my intimate retreats and through discussions on being a wild my hope is that we can all find freedom.
