Mindfulness.ie We offer Mindfulness Teacher Training. We offer talks for workplaces. Supervision and CPD for Mindfulness facilitators

We also deliver Mindfulness Based 8-Week Programmes, workshops, retreats for groups, communities, organisations and individuals. Mindfulness teaches us to direct our attention to what is happening right here, right now, with an attitude of kindness towards ourselves and our experience. This “being with” ourselves is in contrast with more habitual states of mind in which we are often preoccupied with memories, fantasies, worries or planning. Although we are often unaware of the current of our thinking, it has a profound effect on how we live our lives, as well on our mental and emotional health. Mindfulness Based Approaches have also been used to treat or to augment or support the treatment of; addiction (MBRP – Mindfulness Based Relapse Prevention), cancer, eating disorders, chronic pain, anxiety, su***de, psychosis, borderline personality disorder, relationship enhancement in couples (MBRE) and the list is still growing! We adhere to the Good Practice Guidance for Teaching Mindfulness-Based Courses developed by the U.K. Network of Mindfulness Teachers and to the Ethical Guidelines developed at the University of Massachusetts CFM. The guidance includes formal mindfulness training, personal regular mindfulness meditation practice, engagement in regular supervision, commitment to on-going personal practice, training, supervision, attendance on retreats and a high standard of ethics in relation to our teaching and practice of mindfulness.

You are welcome to join Erica for a day of mindfulness practice in The Mindfulness and Compassion Centre

This is a retreat day for anyone who is currently in the midst of or has completed one of our 8 Week Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction (MBSR), Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) and Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC) courses or anyone who has a regular practice and has attended a retreat previously.

A day of practice offers us an opportunity to set aside our usual tasks and responsibilities and take time to practice being present to the fullness of our experience.

Aside from the guidance, we will be practicing mostly in silence so that we can create the space to allow us to go a little deeper, perhaps, than in our usual mindfulness practice. We may see a little more clearly our reactivity, our patterns and we can practice bringing kindness and understanding to what we are discovering rather than our tendency to distract ourselves, criticise or attack ourselves. We invite awareness, presence and kindness to all of our experience, as best we can.

Please wear comfy clothing and layers for outside walking in Fitzwilliam Square, (fingers crossed the weather will allow us to go outside!). There will be plenty of yoga mats, blankets and cushions at the venue but please feel free to bring your own if needs be.

Bring a packed lunch and there is an area where we can make tea and coffee

Places are limited.

📢The next 8 Week Online Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction/Cognitive Therapy (MBSR/MBCT) Course starts on Tuesday May 27th. It's suitable for those brand new to mindfulness and those with experience too.

The MBSR/MBCT is an evidence based, intensive yet gentle 8 week training in mindfulness. If you feel a little stressed, agitated, anxious, stuck, caught in unhelpful thoughts or overwhelmed by life or the world around us then firstly you are human! Secondly, the MBSR/MBCT might be helpful for you. Mindfulness connects us back with our capacity to pause. The power of pausing allows us to see things more clearly, and trust ourselves, and life a little more-allowing us to live with more ease, joy and discernment.

Classes run for 2.5 hours each tuesday evening from 6.30pm-9pm. A full day retreat/day of practice will (Sat June 7th) and a mindfulness handbook are also included. Each week you will be guided through meditations, discussions, reflections, all equipping you with the tools you need to leave the course living with more awareness, ease, resilience and compassion.

"May you take time to celebrate quiet miracles that seek no attention" John O Donohue

Beautiful moody Glendalough this weekend.
Lots of people struggle to sit and meditate.
We can take that same quality of attention and intention wherever we go. Choosing to really be present in our lives as best we can. The body is always right here. The feet on the earth. We can feel the wind against our skin. We can practice appreciation that we have eyes to see the beautiful world around us.

Mindfulness is a skill we can learn. This shows up in research studies. It is also tricky to learn this skill on our own sometimes. The experienced team of teachers at The Mindfulness and Compassion Centre have a variety of courses coming up to support you learning to live with more mindfulness. Check the link in the bio or go to Mindfulness.ie for more info.🌿
