What is breast density and how does it affect breast cancer risk❓❓
📍Women who have more dense glandular and fibrous tissue than fatty tissue in their breasts have what are known as dense breasts. It’s important to note that breast density is not related to the size, look or feel of breasts and can only be seen on a mammogram.
📍Since normal dense breast tissue looks white on a mammogram, and so do tumours – having dense breast tissue can make it harder to find cancer in a routine mammogram.
📈Research has also shown that breast cancer risk increases with the amount of dense breast tissue a woman has.
📍Breast density is a small part of your overall risk – and having dense breasts does not mean that you will get breast cancer. But it does mean that your risk is increased.
👉The breasts are only one part of a woman's anatomy and breast cancer is not a local problem, it is a systemic problem.
✅ Breast thermography is applicable to all women, especially the group between 40 and 50, and for those who have dense, fibrocystic breasts or implants. It is a completely safe, non-destructive risk assessment method.
Note: Thermography does not replace structural ultrasound testing for Dense Breasts - it is an adjunctive add on to a women’s BEST breast health check up.

Sharing with the Clients Permission
My client had a mammogram April 2022 - All clear / Normal Findings
Had first Thermography scan Oct 2022
- Right breast scored a TH3 100. This means she scored a “medium risk” at the high end of the range for developing breast disease
- Left breast scored a TH3 75 which was the start of the range for “medium risk” of breast disease. Following her scan she adopted 2 key processes:
- She made healthy changes to her eating & nutrition
- She added 3 workouts a week and supported not only her body but her lymphatic system
- Second appointment for a follow up breast scan 7 months later:
- Her Right breast has decreased to a TH3 80 (tracking now to the lower end of the range)
- Her left breast has now moved into the TH2 range with a score of 60! She went from medium risk to now “Low Risk” in her left breast.
So proud of my Client! She took the information her body was showing her and took action!
