1 in 3 women don’t receive CPR before emergency services arrive. That statistic alone shows there is still a serious gap in awareness and confidence when it comes to performing lifesaving actions on women. CPR and defibrillation save lives, and education must normalise that opening clothing or removing a bra to place defibrillator pads correctly is part of saving a life. Modesty should never stand in the way of survival🙌😱 ❤️

CardiACT was delighted to volunteer in the local community and screen Skerries Town FC that sadly remembers the loss of one of their loved players Derek Early🕊️.
The importance of knowing your numbers and having at least one cardiac screening in your life time can’t be over emphasised as it could potentially save a life - 80% of heart attacks and strokes are preventable🫶❤️

At this time of year, we always remember the big man , who passed away while training at the Skerries Mills.
He is sadly missed by us all, as is so many of our community who have been taken away with heart issues. So many in the more recent times.

Recently, our club chairman got his heart checked at a screening down in our Club House. It immediately flagged an issue straight away that probably saved his life. He would never have known there was an issue without the check that day.

We .kiely have had thankfully another fantastic week of cardiac screenings in the western region covering Galway, Mayo, Roscommon, and Clare🙏🙏 It was incredibly rewarding to meet such wonderful people and identify cardiac risk factors early, ensuring timely referrals to cardiology consultants at the clinic if required. A big thank you to the entire CardiACT team, especially the younger members who helped set up for screening—my two lovely sons, Maitiú (6) and Peadar (5), and the older members, including my dear mother, who insisted dessert is allowed one night as it’s all about moderation. 😂💓 # the journey continues .farrand .ie 💓💓
