FAST ACCESS CONSULTANT PSYCHIATRIST APPOINTMENTS

We are proud to offer a structured Rapid Access Adult Mental Health Assessment Pathway in collaboration with experienced Consultant Psychiatrists who hold senior roles within major Irish hospital services.

This service is designed for patients who need a specialist psychiatric opinion without long waiting lists.

Our pathway includes a detailed clinical triage process carried out by our doctors at the clinic, ensuring that every patient receives a thorough assessment before being reviewed by the consultant psychiatrist.

The service includes:

• Comprehensive mental health screening and clinical triage
• Medical review by our doctors at the clinic
• Blood tests and ECG where clinically indicated
• Full Consultant Psychiatrist assessment
• Diagnostic formulation and treatment plan
• Prescription where appropriate
• Written consultant report for the patient and for your own GP

If medication is initiated, prescriptions are issued for one month initially, with follow-up review by a doctor at the clinic. Where appropriate, prescriptions may then be issued for three months going forward following review.

This ensures treatment is safe, structured, and properly supervised.

We are extremely proud to provide this service in partnership with highly experienced Consultant Psychiatrists working within some of the largest hospital services in Ireland.

Our aim is to provide high-quality, specialist psychiatric care in a safe and structured setting.

Rapid Access Pathway: €400

Receipts available for reimbursement from major insurers including VHI, Laya Healthcare and Irish Life Health depending on individual policy.

Appointments available for Adult Mental Health Assessments (18+).

We are proud and grateful to offer comprehensive ADHD and Autism assessments for children aged 4 years and above, adolescents, and adults.

All assessments are Consultant Psychiatrist-led and carried out with care, respect, and clinical thoroughness. Our aim is to provide a clear and supportive assessment process with transparent pricing and no hidden charges.

Assessment fees include initial medication titration where appropriate. Ongoing reviews are available if required.

We also offer flexible payment options through VHI, Laya Healthcare, Klarna, and humm.

If you usually attend our clinic on a Sunday, we warmly welcome you to visit us on Saturdays instead. As always, we remain a walk-in clinic.

To help us care for everyone as smoothly as possible, we kindly ask that repeat prescriptions are requested at least 24 hours in advance.

Planning ahead helps ensure you don’t run out of your medication and allows our team to manage requests safely and efficiently.

When prescriptions are requested on the same day, it can put pressure on the clinic and may affect our ability to prioritise patients who are unwell and need urgent care.

Giving us a little notice truly helps us look after all our patients better.

Meet Stacey — the face of our front desk 💕

Stacey is our longest-standing member of staff and a true cornerstone of Newcastle Medical.

As the first person you see when you walk through our doors, she sets the tone for the entire clinic with her warmth, professionalism, and great sense of humour.

Well known and loved by both patients and staff, Stacey is famous for her friendly reminders — especially her classic line when we’re running a little behind:
“You have 7 minutes with the doctor!” 😄

Her loyalty, dedication, and ability to keep everyone smiling (even on the busiest days) make her an invaluable part of our team — and we wouldn’t have it any other way.

John usually looks after our bloods clinic and does a fantastic job.

On the days when he’s not in the clinic, I step in — I’m a qualified phlebotomist and still very much enjoy getting back to a bit of phlebotomy when needed!
