Cartilage is a connective tissue found on the articular ends of bone. It acts as a lubricating shock absorber between two opposing bones within a joint.

Cartilage can tear, which can heal very slowly or very often not at all 🤕

We are delighted to be taking part in the 100 challenge for the month of February.

♥️A challenge like this is just what we need to kick start our personal fitness goals for 2025 and help raising funds for such an essential service.

♥️ Cardiac disease is still one of the most common causes of illness, disability and death amongst Irish adults.

♥️ Exercise plays a fundamental role in the fight against cardiovascular disease, so this was a challenge close to our hearts.... literally ♥️♥️♥️

Joan Fannin retires today from Milltown Physiotherapy after 22 years of being the Practice Manager. While we are delighted for her, we will miss her dearly and we join with our patients here in the clinic in wishing her all the best as she takes to the next chapter in her life with friends and family.

Muscle Injury 🤕

👩🏼‍⚕️This brilliant infographic shows the 3 phases of a muscle injury repair process.

📝The duration of the process depends on the severity of the injury, which we grade between 1-3

👩🏼‍⚕️Typically a grade 1 is 4-6 weeks: grade 2 is 6-12 weeks and grade 3 is 12+ weeks.

🎯 Graded muscle stress is performed during rehabilitation which typically involves strengthening through range and an increase in movement forces, such as a graded running programme.
