Hi everyone 👋!

We hope you are all enjoying MedWeek as much as we are 🫶🏻! We have a LOVELY event for tomorrow 😌You are all welcome to come to B005 at 12pm tomorrow to hear all about the charity we’ve dedicated this week to! 🥰

Cathy, a partner of the charity will be bringing a puppy (🥹) set to be trained up to change lives with Dogs for the Disabled 🐶

And after, Padraic and his Task Dog Gail - who helps him through his daily life with Cerebral Palsy - will share with us his story as a Paralympian, Sky Ambassador, and advocate.

You deserve to feel proud of all the good work of MedWeek guys so come to see and hear how lives are changed with Dogs for the Disabled 🥰🥰🥰

(And afterwards in the student centre get ready for our shave or dye with live music. Rumour has it Prof Cormac Taylor, Dr Tom Flanagan, and Prof Eoin Cummins will be wielding the razors 🤫)

Hi guys !
We will be holding a BAKE SALE for MedWeek on Monday and Tuesday 😍!

Catch us in outside James Joyce, the Conway Institute and of course Health Sciences from 9am-1pm both days if you fancy some yummy treats for a good cause 🥰!

Feel free to bake something and contribute to the bake sale, with all proceeds going to our wonderful charity Dogs for the Disabled 🐶💜.

Test your knowledge at the first event of MEDWEEK at our pub quizzes 🍻 for Dogs for the Disabled.

€40 per team and a maximum 4 per team with all proceeds going to Dogs for the Disabled 💜🐶. Details for signing up are in your class group chats ! Places are limited so get your teams in ASAP 🫵🏻

Preclinical years are on Monday and Clinical years are on Tuesday ! Med ball tickets and MORE are up for grabs so get studying 📚

🌟To celebrate International Women's day we are delighted to have Dr. Karen Redmond in for an insightful talk.🌟

She is the first female lung transplant surgeon to be appointed both in the UK and Ireland. Dr. Redmond will share with us her journey to becoming a cardiothoracic surgeon, her experiences training abroad, and the ups and downs she has faced in her career.

MedSoc is so pleased to announce that Tuesday, March 7th @ 5:30pm in HSE C007, we will be joined by Dr. Tony Holohan🥳

As the former Chief Medical Officer and current adjunct professor at UCD, Dr. Holohan will be sharing his experiences and lessons from a very unique career. Make sure to join us as this is not an opportunity to miss!

🪩MED GALA IS BACK🪩

⭐️We are very excited to announce that Med Gala will be taking place on Saturday the 1st of April in the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Blanchardstown ⭐️

🎸Music by the amazing Backseat Drivers. 🎸

Tickets will be on sale Friday the 24th of February from 11am-1pm in concourse C of health science. Tickets are VERY LIMITED so be on time to avoid disappointment!

Tag rugby is finally back!🏉

Get ready for of the biggest sporting events of the year which pits each year against each other in a battle of skill and speed with a lot of heckling the ref!

The tournament will run on Tuesday evenings from 7-8pm, starting on February 14th.
