The first-ever NICE guideline on chronic pain has said that GPs should not prescribe opioids to patients with chronic pain because they could be ‘harmful’.

This is great news. Not all weedkillers are made equal but this one needs to go. Shame it took so long but many people have fought for this day 👏🏼

B&Q will stop selling the weedkiller Roundup - after it has been linked to causing cancer in the US. The DIY giant delisted the popular weedkiller and other glyphosate-based products.

People power. This one was a long time coming!

The company says demand has declined "fueled by misinformation around the safety of the product and a constant barrage of litigation advertising." Lawsuits allege that the powder causes cancer.

I remember reading neurosurgeon Henry Marsh’s biography ‘Do No Harm’ about how misunderstood the brain and indeed ideas of surgery are. Most people would think you’d be out for the count but the surgeon needs you to be awake and stimulated a lot of the time in order to operate on you. A must read if you are interested in the finer aspects of our functioning, as acupuncturists are!

Prof Wardley, consultant medical oncologist at The Christie, said he hoped the trial would "lead to a new standard of care for treating this condition, improving the lives of millions of patients".

A trial found 68% of cancer patients who suffer with neuropathy saw their symptoms lessen.
