Mindful eating draws substantially on the use of mindfulness meditation. Mindfulness helps bring our attention and awareness to the present moment, which in turn, helps us disengage from habitual and unsatisfying habits and behaviors. Engaging in mindful eating practices on a regular basis can help us discover a far more satisfying relationship to food. Evidence is building that validates the benefits of mindful eating for the treatment of eating disorders and obesity. I will be running workshops specifically in this area later in 2012. The benefits of mindful eating are not restricted to physical and emotional health improvements; they can also improve one’s entire life through a better sense of balance and well-being. Holistic Nutrition uses various combinations of food and nutrients to help individuals achieve optimal physical, mental and spiritual health. What we eat has a direct influence on our health. It sounds so basic, but people are just beginning to make this connection. Nutrition is the basis of health and therefore so important to our overall wellbeing.

Our Story

Hello and thanks for dropping by my page. My name is Deirdre and I’ve been working in the area of Nutrition and Mindfulness for around 8 years. Early on in my practice I realised how mindfulness could greatly help my clients to manage their weight struggles and I trained in Mindful Eating. I have been running one day workshops and retreats in this area for many years. I also run Mindfulness retreats, Serenity Sunday Urban retreats, womens circles and collaborate with a variety of practitioners.
