REPEAT AFTER ME;

As the days continue to get longer, I welcome the light back into my life and will work to make the most of this gift with each passing day.

I acknowledge the complex challenges that life throws my way, safe in the knowledge that I have learned over the years that no matter what they look like, I ALWAYS hold the autonomy to respond in a way that honours my truth and goodness.

On a daily basis, I will remain committed to challenging the language I use about me and my world. This process of rewiring my brain through changing the words I use has resulted in deep and lasting belief change about who I am and what I am capable of.

I will unashamedly continue to reach out for connection with those who have shown me the love and support I have needed, and will need in days to come. I always remember that a friend's silence has nothing to do with me and I send loving vibes always with the hope of connecting again when they are ready to do so.

My heart is with all who are struggling right now. I deeply feel a desire to communicate to them that this too shall pass and that whatever pain they are experiencing will eventually be integrated into the new beautiful selves that they are.

Sending love and peace to all who read this today.

Please reach out to info@talktodan.ie if you have any questions at all about how psychotherapy can help you or someone you care about.

REPEAT AFTER ME;

Happiness is not a fixed state. It is a momentary emotional response to consistent, dedicated actions that I take towards my truest self.

I am committed to remaining eternally curious about my history and how it has impacted my beliefs, my needs and my understanding of what it takes to be content in a chaotic and challenging world.

My vulnerability and capacity to express myself is a superpower. It frees me from the messaging that to keep myself small, to keep my light dimmed is what I am supposed to do.

Realising that this superpower is within me, I can move forward towards contact with the world safe in the knowledge that my authenticity will set me free and knowing that the people who matter most to me will respond with kindness, space and love.

Each day I have the autonomy and choice to embrace all of the above, and in doing so I can live and love, and be loved in return.

Sending peace and love and gratitude to all who read this.

People will never ever forget how you made them feel. Words and actions are memories, how you made them feel is eternal.

I'm so lucky to have many in my life for whom the above has rung true year in and year out, regardless of how often or not we speak!

Happy New Year 💕

And, breathe. If you're having a difficult time with anxiety this week, or indeed ever, try to find a quiet space, sit or lie still, and breathe in, hold, and out. The only thing you need to remember is that the out breath should be longer than the in breath.

4 seconds in, 3 second hold and 7 second out works best for me but find out what suits you best.

In doing this we are communicating to our nervous system that there is no threat present in this moment, and the nervous system then moves from fight/flight/freeze to rest and digest.

It's a cheat mode in my experience! Works every time.
