What are you waiting for? You want something else or different in you life... What is it? A better or nicer job, more free time, a fitter and healthier body? So, what are you waiting for? If you want to change something in you life, you have to take ACTION. Even small actions are great. So, try starting today, with making one small change. Make a note of what it is. How did you feel after you made the change? Do it again tomorrow, and again, make a note of how you feel. Change needs help...from you! Go for it!

How good is good enough?
A coaching client said to me 'But I'm not good enough to do that'. So, what is good enough? If you want to do something, are good at and enjoy doing that thing, then who is judging you, other than yourself? Unless you give it a try, and see if others like it, will buy it, or want to participate in whatever you are doing, then you will not know the answer. However, if you create a product or a service and customers are willing to pay for it, then you are good enough. So, stop holding yourself back by self doubt.

A Coach can be a sounding board... someone to run ideas by, to actively listen and give feedback to you when you are pondering an issue. It could be a change of job, a move of any kind, a fear you want to overcome. Spend an hour with a coach, expressing what you are trying to achieve. It may feel insurmountable, but often even talking about it out loud, and getting feedback or being asked open questions, can set change in motion. A Coach is not going to tell you what to do. That power remains yours alone. Give it a go!

Companies are signing up to sponsor CWA trishaw bikes, nursing homes are fundraising for their own, and volunteer pilots want to take residents out for free, slow-cycling spins. Happiness is Cycling Without Age - for passengers and pilots. www.cyclingwithoutage.ie.
Volunteering can add zest to your life, can open doors, create new horizons - for you as well as the people you help. I have got entire careers from volunteering. Create a smile on someone's face and see how you will smile as well!

Time for a change? Want to see the world... from a different angle?
Sometimes you need to change how you look at things, or just get yourself out of your comfort zone and shake yourself up a bit. It has the most amazing impact on how you see the world and on your attitude. Think you can't? Just give it a try. You are braver than you think you are. Trust me... that is me, hanging from a zip wire about 14 metres up in the tree tops, doing a circuit of really scary pole and rope 'walks' and zip wires through a forest in Killruddery in Bray, Co. Wicklow. I had to overcome huge fear of being up that high, with only a harness and fresh air between me and the ground. Coaching can be your harness to a more fun life.

My talk to 25 businesswomen on how to get Fit and Healthy for their Business was well-received. Being fit for business means having a clear head, energy and vitality, calmness, ability to prioritise, keep a good work-life balance and remain focused. We can only do this if we are fit and healthy, both mentally and physically.
Health is much more than absence of illness. Your health is vital to the health of your business. How you care for yourself shows how you value yourself. Being sick or tired on a regular basis is not normal. Nor is it good for your career or business.
Gaining weight and feeling tired are not normal or part of the ageing process. If these are issues for you, how about talking to me (or any nutrition and health coach) and see how you can change things?
A healthy bowel is a happy place! For optimum digestive health, you need at least one bowel movement per day. This will eliminate the toxins that would otherwise build up and cause damage to your digestive system. If you want energy, to feel bright, lively and comfortable, ensure that you are eating enough soluble fibre (from whole grains, vegetables, and water) to keep your gut healthy.

Two ‘H’ words:
• Headaches
• Heartburn
Both are caused by what you eat and by HOW you eat. Eat a little protein (cheese, eggs, seeds, nuts, fish, meat, milk) with EVERY meal. It helps to slow down your digestion. Eat plant protein (soy, whole grains, lentils, brown rice, quinoa, seeds and nuts) more than animal protein.
Drink 2 litres of WATER per day, every day! Not soft drinks, which are full of sugar and empty calories, just water or herbal tea.
Drink room-temperature (not chilled or iced) water 10 – 15 minutes BEFORE each meal. Then only sip water with your meal, and do not drink much liquid for an hour afterwards. This allows your stomach to process the protein, and does not dilute the hydrochloric acid needed to do this.
Taking antacid medication or tablets will have the opposite effect, so avoid them!

Yippee! Today is the First of February. I don't know about you, but I find January a bleak, long month. It does not inspire me to be creative, or start new things. BUT, come the 1st Feb. I am switched on! The mornings are brighter, the evenings are longer, the birds are getting frisky, daffodils are appearing in the garden. I celebrated by starting a new toothbrush and going for a cycle to meet a client - simple, easy things to mark the day, and notice change happening. If you want to make some changes, coaching is a super way to begin. Talking things through with a coach can clarify your thoughts, sort out what is real, and set goals to get you on your way. You eat with your emotions....

What is your relationship with food? Does what and how you eat reflect your attitude to yourself, for good or ill? If you are mainly eating poor quality, snack and sugary foods, are you punishing yourself, and thinking 'I have no value, so it doesn't matter what rubbish I eat'?

Anxiety, fear, depression, sadness, anger - these are emotions. If you are eating in response to these feelings, then you are eating with your emotions. If you can begin to recognise what is happening as you do this, you can take back control of what and how you eat and make a better choice.

Body Confidence - What level is your body confidence? At what point do you accept yourself for what you are? We need to support and accept our body.

Body and Mind Image - What is your self image? Do you like yourself? What would it take to like yourself? People treat me the way I ask them to, sub-consciously. If people treat me badly, then I am asking them to do so from my poor self-image. Am I sabotaging my life in this way?

Food is an investment. How are you investing in your body? Are you making good or bad investments?

Become aware of what you devote your time and energy to. Take responsibility for your eating and your health. Set goals and commit to them. Express gratitude, it's a powerful gift and will relax you.

Imagine... your parent, or grandparent, or other elderly relative or friend now lives in a nursing home. It may be fine, but a bit boring, being stuck in there day after day, not much chance to get out, especially if they are less mobile/able nowadays. Now, imagine if someone arrived with a pedal-powered, specially- built rickshaw bicycle, to take them out for a spin! No charge, just the chance to take a spin around the local area, feel the wind in their hair, see the sights! Well, coming soon, is just that. Cycling Without Age, www.cyclingwithoutage.ie, offers this service to nursing homes around the world, and I have been granted the first licence to it in Ireland.

Change can be difficult and scary for lots of people. Working with a life coach can help you take the first steps to making some changes in your life. The first thing to remember is that if you make a change it is not set in stone. It can be changed again if you feel unhappy with it or find it does not suit you.
