The purpose of the Spiritualist Union of Ireland is to promote Spiritualism as a religion in Ireland and facilitate both the personal and spiritual development of it’s members in Spirituality, general Mediumship, Spiritual Healing and all other aspects of holistic and Spiritual enlightenment. Our ceremonies include , Wedding Ceremonies, Civil Partnership Celebration Ceremonies, Baby naming, Funerals and Divine Service. As spiritualists it is our religious belief that when the physical body passes, the spirit body lives on and we can connect and communicate with the spirit body. Spiritual Ceremonies have been privileged to have walked with thousands of couples, from all over the world, on their journey toward their special day here in Ireland since 2010. We travel the length and breadth of Ireland, from Cork to Donegal, seven days a week, making memories with our couples on their special day. In fact, we performed the first legal outdoor wedding ceremony in Ireland in April 2011. Most of these couples had questions, just like you may have, so the information below is intended to answer some of those. Some people ask us, what do you mean by spiritual? A religious person may be spiritual, but a spiritual person is not necessarily religious, thus all activity be it physical, emotional, intuitional and so forth that leads towards greater perfection, goodness and wholeness is therefore spiritual. The definition of spirituality encompasses real self, of us.. truth of our inner self… the inner being, hence why our ceremonies always focus ON YOU. We have a large team of Registered Solemnisers available in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland, all of whom can perform the legal element of a wedding ceremony. We also perform vow renewals, wedding blessings, naming ceremonies and end of Life Celebrations (Funerals). We are highly trained to design your ceremony, to reflect your personal needs because we understand this is one of the most important days of your lives and we ensure your ceremony is created “WITH YOU, FOR YOU ABOUT YOU”. We at Spiritual Ceremonies, take time with you to design your ceremony, so that it reflects you as a couple, honouring your beliefs and values, ensuring they are reflected in the content and length of your ceremony. When speaking with your Celebrant you can choose any theme of music, readings or poems that convey a message about you and your partner. We can also perform the ceremony indoors and outdoors (outdoors is subject to requirements under the Civil Registrations legislation).

Today we’re taking a moment to celebrate the incredible women who surround us in our work and in our lives.

As a team of wedding celebrants, we have the privilege of witnessing some of life’s most meaningful moments. Again and again, we see the strength, care and love that women bring to those moments — often quietly, often behind the scenes, but always powerfully.

We see it in the brides and partners standing proudly at the top of the aisle, in the mothers who have supported every step of the journey, in sisters and best friends who bring laughter, calm nerves and heartfelt words. We see it in the stories shared during ceremonies — stories of resilience, kindness, courage and deep love.

And today we also celebrate the women within our own celebrant team. Each of them brings warmth, compassion and authenticity to every ceremony they create. It is an honour to work alongside women who are so dedicated to helping couples tell their stories and mark life’s milestones with meaning.

Weddings remind us that love is never just about two people — it is about the community around them, and so often the women in that community are the ones holding so much of the love, support and strength.
