Keeping Active at Glenaulin Nursing Home, Chapelizod, Dublin 👏

Our residents love to stay active, and at Glenaulin Nursing Home, we have a daily calendar of activities to suit every taste. To help with dexterity and coordination, we sometimes include everyday tasks in our activities — like napkin folding 🧵💛

Loads of smiles and happiness were brought to Glenaulin on a sunny Tuesday afternoon by Eimear and her dog, Radar, from Dog Therapy Ireland.

Residents Leony, Joseph, and Rita absolutely loved spending time with Radar — sharing cuddles, air kisses 😊, and he even joined in a game of Scrabble with our residents.

A big thank you to Eimear and Radar for brightening everyone’s day 💛

🍫 Sweet Treat Thursday at Glenaulin Nursing Home 🍫 where on Thursday last - October 2nd - we had the loveliest afternoon with Rita, Mary, Betty, Ann, and Bernie as they got hands-on in the kitchen making rice crispy cakes 👩‍🍳👩‍🍳

There was plenty of laughter, teamwork, and of course, taste-testing – and the verdict from our residents was unanimous: absolutely delicious 🥰

A big thank you to Activities Coordinators and to our wonderful Residents (bakers) for bringing joy (and chocolatey smiles) to Glenaulin Nursing Home. 💙

Yesterday at Glenaulin Nursing Home. We celebrated the 96th birthday of our wonderful resident, Christina O’Dwyer🥳💐

It was a very special day filled with love, laughter and warm wishes for Christina as we marked this amazing milestone together. 🥰

As autumn begins, we carried on a much-loved Glenaulin Nursing Home tradition – our annual game of conkers🌰

With Activity Coordinator Dana leading the fun, Ann, Rita, Betty, Jeffrey, Sam, Vivien and Una were transported back to childhood memories of this classic old-time game. There was plenty of laughter, a bit of friendly competition, and lots of reminiscing about days gone by. 💛

Puzzle Time at Glenaulin Nursing Home 🧩

Our lovely ladies, Tina, Peggy, Betty, Ann, Rita, Connie and Marie, spent a wonderful afternoon working on jigsaw puzzles together.

Not only are puzzles a fun challenge, but they also offer so many benefits — boosting cognitive skills, improving focus, encouraging social interaction and supporting overall well-being 💕

We had double the enjoyment this time as the finished puzzle revealed familiar faces — recognising our friends in the picture made it extra special!

Our lovely residents Connie, Breda, Tina, and Lily enjoyed an enchanting afternoon filled with the timeless songs and stories of Connie Francis. What a wonderful way to spend the day—music truly lifts the spirit!

A lovely afternoon of creativity at Glenaulin Nursing Home

Our ladies – Brida, Noreen, Connie, Frances, Betty, Ann and Mary – really enjoyed a soap-making session together. We mixed cedarwood-scented tinctures with dried herbs to make the soaps look (and smell!) fabulous. 🌿💚

It was a wonderful experience for the senses – both for those taking part and the onlookers who came by to enjoy the fragrances filling the room.

Our residents from Glenaulin Nursing Home enjoyed a lovely afternoon at the Tea Dance in Ballyfermot Civic Centre.

There was music, dancing, and plenty of laughter — a wonderful way to spend the day together in the heart of the community. 🎶☕💐

A big thank you to everyone involved in organising such a joyful event.

September is recognised as Fall Prevention Month, a time to raise awareness about fall risks and share strategies to help prevent falls, especially among older adults.

At Glenaulin Nursing Home, we marked this important theme through a special art session. Residents enjoyed getting creative while also discussing ways to stay safe and steady.

Mondays are always uplifting at Glenaulin Nursing Home
Our week began with the wonderful sounds of live music from Mike and his guitar, which our residents look forward to every week. 💙

💪 The morning continued with energising Siel Bleu Ireland exercises, keeping everyone active and full of energy.

🍂 We also welcomed the season with some autumn colouring, a calming and creative way to spend time together. To finish, we harvested the very last carrots of the season 🥕 — giving our residents the chance to enjoy the beautiful colours and aromas that nature brings. 🌿

A perfect start to September filled with music, movement, creativity, and nature.
