“Support
Yoga is not for those who are flexible, strong, or even zen. Yoga will help you with all of that, but that is not the end game.
“Done is better than perfect.” This phrase works for Yoga too.
Only practicing will help you.
How many times do you think I practiced headstand?
More than 100 times for sure. I practiced using the sofa for a long time, and after that, I practiced beside the bed (with support on the wall) before sleep every day until I felt comfortable doing it without any support. But that took a long time.
When someone says to me, ‘That is because you are flexible... It’s natural for you... your body.’ My body nothing; I practiced for a long time to have the flexibility or the strength or any other ability I have.
I just did not stop on my first difficult😊
I just need to have the priorities of where I want to be. Dedication is the key.
But remember that you can use support at any step of the way. Physical support, mental support, family support, and friends’ support.
#
#Don’t forget to use it when you need it. They can help you grow so much.
Today, I used the support of this specific stool, and my practice was completely different. I was able to focus on different moves instead of balance.
We can always benefit from using props and support in every practice, and this will not make me worse for that; actually, it helps. And it can help you, no matter if you are a beginner or advanced in your Yoga practice.
Try it and let me know what you think.
Blocks, belt, chair, wheel, wall, or stools are some of the props I use.
