What a weekend! My 3rd year summit in London learning from some of the best minds from across the globe - Julia Rucklidge, Ted Dinan, Joseph Prousky, Thomas Guilliam, to name but a few. It was so inspiring delving into psychiatric disorders, mental health with a lens of how best to support our clients using nutrition. A massive thank you to , Amanda & all the NMI team for yet another fantastic event. Big thank you to you are the absolute best 💕 Also super grateful to spend time with Here’s to NMI 2026! 😊

I loved learning from some fantastic speakers & panelists such as Dr Sumi Dunne, , Katie from & so many more!

was a fascinating keynote speaker. was the most brilliant educator on all things pelvic health!! I don’t think I’ve laughed as much through a session before 🤣
Shawna from showing us how to keep things spicy no matter the stage of life!

During all this, I still made time for some catch ups with colleagues I hadn’t seen in an age & made lots of new friends!

Lots to digest & different modalities to help support my clients transitioning through perimenopause & menopause 🫶🏼

💫Future Fertility Show 2nd & 3rd March 2023💫

I am so excited (& a little nervous tbh!) to be presenting a workshop at the Future Fertility Show on Saturday 2nd at 1:30pm. I’ll be speaking about improving menstrual cycles.
I’ll go into how menstrual cycle & fertility are linked on the day but the short version is (in most) a relatively symptom free cycle indicates conditions are favourable for TTC.

Supporting mental health is a cause close to my heart so I’m delighted that I get to speak about supporting mental wellbeing through nutrition & lifestyle on the night 🥝 🥬

Nutrition for Menopause - Freebie

Supporting Perimenopause & Menopause through food choices is a really accessible way that all women can avail of. The key focus needs to be on Macros (Protein, Fat & Carbohydrates) & not calories.

Essentially you are aiming to balance your hormones as much as possible. As we are in a state of hormone fluctuation & become increasingly insulin resistant (insulin is less sensitive to uptake into the cells from blood) during the menopause transition & beyond it is important to bring balance to the blood sugar levels. Protein & fat are the key macros that help maintain that balance so we need to ensure to eat enough of them with each meal or snack.

Let's up level our understanding around our menstrual cycles. Let's start with why we menstruate.

It is essentially like a spring clean that happens frequently.

It takes an extraordinary amount of energy and resources (such as: blood, hormones and nutrients) to create human life so we need to excrete the thick uterine lining that was created in anticipation of conception. If conception does not occur then our bodies initiate this clearing process to keep us healthy.

A woman’s menstrual cycle is a key area to look at when addressing general health as changes in any part of the cycle (length, duration, flow, absence, PMS, breast tenderness, etc) can indicate an imbalance in the body.

Stress, hormone changes, lifestyle, not eating the right kinds of foods, too little or too much exercise, medications and certain medical conditions can all have an effect on your menstrual cycle.

Some of you were asking for vegetarian/ vegan dinner ideas so here is one of my favourites! As the evenings are getting a little colder there is nothing nicer than a comforting and warming meal. Try out his vegan and gluten free Tofu Chilli recipe.

Tofu is great to add into your food rotation as it is a phytoestrogen which weakly binds to the oestrogen receptors in the body and can aid with oestrogen excess (PMS, heavy periods) in pre menopausal women.

Interestingly after menopause soy swings towards being a pro oestrogenic as there is less natural Oestradiol in the body to block it which means soy can help relieve menopausal symptoms like hot flashes!

Looking for an on the go, healthy & delicious that will keep you filled up?
Look no further! These tasty baked egg bites will keep you satisfied & are a convenient lunch box staple. I like to make these when I have busy days planned & am not sure what will be available to me when I’m out. They are so quick to make I usually pop them in the oven to cook as I get ready in the morning. Can be made the night before too if you are pushed for time in the am!

I love making this recipe! It adds a few spices & flavours that we don’t necessarily have all the time. Getting a variety of herbs and spices into our food is a great thing for our microbiome! If you are having a BBQ over the weekend you can make the patties ahead of time! Handy right?!
