Today a new phase for Eriu Yoga began... Embodied and somatic yoga teacher training started with a beautiful group... led by Clondalkin Yoga. Thank you to all of the fabulous teachers I've learned from so far who have led me to this wonderful space.
Today brought a whole new awareness to my yoga practise - very powerful. I'm looking forward to the next few months of experience and learning

"May all beings everywhere be happy and free", Sanskrit: लोकः समस्ताः सुखिनो भवन्तु. This mantra, often referred to as the "mantra for peace," emphasizes the universal spirit of compassion, unity, and well-being. It reminds us of our interconnectedness and the importance of our individual contributions to the greater good.
On this International Day of Yoga, we want to share a mantra that promotes worldwide harmony and spreads love, peace, and compassion to all beings, regardless of borders, backgrounds, or beliefs.
Let this mantra inspire us to be kind, understanding, and supportive towards each other, creating a world where happiness and freedom thrive. May our thoughts, words, and actions demonstrate our dedication to the well-being and freedom of all.

GOD, THIS IS BEAUTIFUL! TAKE THE TIME TO READ IT ❤️
As someone who writes often, I naturally appreciate epic writing when I see it. About two years ago, I came across this written piece of art by John Roedel and it moved me deeply, so I had to share it with all of you! Not only are these words true theatre, they also act as sound advice ❤️
my brain and
heart divorced
a decade ago
over who was
to blame about
how big of a mess
I have become
eventually,
they couldn't be
in the same room
with each other
now my head and heart
share custody of me
I stay with my brain
during the week
and my heart
gets me on weekends
they never speak to one another
- instead, they give me
the same note to pass
to each other every week
and their notes they
send to one another always
says the same thing:
"This is all your fault"
on Sundays
my heart complains
about how my
head has let me down
in the past
and on Wednesday
my head lists all
of the times my
heart has screwed
things up for me
in the future
they blame each
other for the
state of my life
there's been a lot
of yelling - and crying
so,
lately, I've been
spending a lot of
time with my gut
who serves as my
unofficial therapist
most nights, I sneak out of the
window in my ribcage
and slide down my spine
and collapse on my
gut's plush leather chair
that's always open for me
~ and I just sit sit sit sit
until the sun comes up
last evening,
my gut asked me
if I was having a hard
time being caught
between my heart
and my head
I nodded
I said I didn't know
if I could live with
either of them anymore
"my heart is always sad about
something that happened yesterday
while my head is always worried
about something that may happen tomorrow,"
I lamented
my gut squeezed my hand
"I just can't live with
my mistakes of the past
or my anxiety about the future,"
I sighed
my gut smiled and said:
"in that case,
you should
go stay with your
lungs for a while,"
I was confused
- the look on my face gave it away
"if you are exhausted about
your heart's obsession with
the fixed past and your mind's focus
on the uncertain future
your lungs are the perfect place for you
there is no yesterday in your lungs
there is no tomorrow there either
there is only now
there is only inhale
there is only exhale
there is only this moment
there is only breath
and in that breath
you can rest while your
heart and head work
their relationship out."
this morning,
while my brain
was busy reading
tea leaves
and while my
heart was staring
at old photographs
I packed a little
bag and walked
to the door of
my lungs
before I could even knock
she opened the door
with a smile and as
a gust of air embraced me
she said
"what took you so long?"

When the mind is festering with trouble or the heart torn, we can find healing among the silence of mountains or fields, or listen to the simple, steadying rhythm of waves. The slowness and stillness gradually takes us over. Our breathing deepens and our hearts calm and our hungers relent. When serenity is restored, new perspectives open to us and difficulty can begin to seem like an invitation to new growth.
This invitation to friendship with nature does of course entail a willingness to be alone out there. Yet this aloneness is anything but lonely. Solitude gradually clarifies the heart until a true tranquility is reached. The irony is that at the heart of that aloneness you feel intimately connected with the world. Indeed, the beauty of nature is often the wisest balm for it gently relieves and releases the caged mind.

May you recognize in your life the presence,
power, and light of your soul.
May you realize that you are never alone,
that your soul in its brightness and belonging
connects you intimately with the rhythm of
the universe.
May you have respect for your individuality
and difference.
May you realize that the shape of your soul is unique,
that you have a special destiny here,
that behind the façade of your life,
there is something beautiful and eternal happening.

Ériu is the Tuatha Dé Danann Goddess who gifts her name to the island of Ireland. Her name is derived from Old Irish Gaelic and translates to 'earth' or 'plentiful'. Around the time 1,400-1000 BCE, she was one of the most important Goddesses of Ireland. She is buried beneath the 'Ail na Muireann' Stone of Invasions on the Hill of Uisneach. At the Celtic Festival of Bealtaine, people gather there to celebrate the arrival of early Summer. Too true...
TOO MANY SUNDAYS
Too many Sundays have been darkened by the dreaded presence of Monday, looming in like a storm cloud of anxiety and fear.
Sunday is your gift, your day to recharge, your freedom.
Be protective of that time.
Monday has its space enough, do not let it overstep its mark.
Make your plans, prepare, then push Monday back into its box and let Sunday shine forth like the jewel it is.
You deserve this day of soul rest.
You work tirelessly my friends.
Life is not a chore to be dealt with, it’s to be lived.
You’re here to live.
And Sunday is a day for doing exactly what your heart desires.

Nothing others do is because of you. What others say and do is a projection of their own reality.
💫 When we stop taking things personally, we free ourselves from the opinions and actions of others. We can maintain our sense of inner peace and self-worth, regardless of what anyone else says or does. 💪
🙌 This doesn't mean that we should ignore feedback or constructive criticism, or that we shouldn't take responsibility for our own actions. It simply means that we should not allow the opinions and actions of others to control our emotions or sense of self.
By not taking things personally, we can experience a greater sense of freedom and inner peace, and live our lives according to our own values and beliefs. 💖
