Today is European Antibiotic Awareness Day. Inappropriate and overuse of antibiotics can lead to antibiotic resistance which in turn causes prolonged or untreatable infections, increased death rates and an increased burden on our healthcare system. Always take antibiotics as directed by your Doctor and Pharmacist, and avoid inappropriate use for minor illness such as colds and flu.
