1- At-home microneedling with deep needles.
Rollers or pens longer than 0.25mm don’t “boost collagen” at home — they cause trauma.
Professional microneedling is done under sterile conditions, with precision depth control and medical-grade aftercare.
Doing it yourself can introduce bacteria, trigger pigmentation, or leave permanent track marks.
2. DIY “filler dissolvers.”
You should never inject or dissolve anything yourself.
It’s safe only when used by a trained medical professional who knows how to avoid tissue damage, vascular complications, or allergic reactions.
3. Professional-grade chemical peels.
TCA peels above 10–15% sound tempting but your living room is not a clinic.
Over-application or uneven layering can cause burns and long-term pigmentation.
Leave medium and deep peels to professionals who can monitor your skin’s reaction in real time.
4. DIY fat-dissolving injections.
Any substance claiming to “melt fat” is not safe for home use.
These are regulated compounds (like deoxycholic acid) that, if misused, can cause necrosis — meaning actual tissue death. Nothing is worth that risk.
5. DIY mole or skin tag removal.
Cutting, burning, or applying acid to remove moles or tags can lead to scarring and infections.
But even worse, it can mask signs of skin cancer. Always get these checked by a medical professional first.
