Awareness is growing around parasites and how they are often the root cause of many diseases and chronic health conditions.
BUT before you embark on one, it's important to know more about our little friends. ๐ฆ ๐
Parasites are incredibly common. They are in our food, water, soil, pets and can even be physically and sexually transmitted person to person.
There is no one size fits all approach to treating parasites because no two people are the same. Be particularly cautious if taking prescription medication or if you have complex health conditions. It is best to work with a holistic practitioner to assist you with any detox. And it may take time.
๐พ Parasites can affect our digestive system, they can disturb our sleep and cause nightmares and night terrors (especially in children). Other symptoms include teeth grinding, an itchy bum, dark circles under the eyes, low energy, fatigue & weakness, anemia, muscle aches, rashes, weight loss, appetite increase or decrease, feeling generally "unwell" but can't quite put your finger on why.
๐ฉธ If you have a parasitic infection you might be low in iron. If this shows on blood tests, I recommend not supplementing with iron until you have cleared the parasites as it makes them harder to get rid of. Increase iron rich food sources instead (meat, tofu, spinach, lentils, beans, nuts and seeds).
๐ A diet full of fresh fruits, vegetables, white meat and fish plus a lot of water and herbal teas will help flush them out faster.
There is also a huge emotional and energetic element to parasitic infections which I will go into in an upcoming video. Keep your eyes out! ๐
